By nicaq25

Just awhile ago (15 mins.) I came to pass by a vehicular accident near Najma Signa (beside Al Emadi business bldg.) Many cars got involved, and I think the accident was quite serious, and I saw some victims were transported by Emergency team to hospital.Maybe you can read it on the newspapers the following days.
(sorry guys, no pics allowed).

Thanks scarlett and agietra. Hmm scarlett, I hope not.If they send him back, he wouldve gotten away with it, and still endangering other people lives.

Nadt, glad to hear that you and kids are fine...

and I bet you would have skinned that young man alive if you'd have gotten too close!

If I had to bet...I'd say that man is going to be on one of the first planes back to where he came from....very quickly.

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

Put them in Jail for over a year and then straight back to home country, they don't deserve to be here, car racing and risking others lives.

Glad that the Sister and her kids are safe, praying for the car no.1 and 2 which were hit badly.

Car Racing should be done on PlayStation or if you are good enough at Lusail Race Track.....when will these kids learn?

Honestly I believe Qatar should have a huge Amateur racing track (for people with a penchant for racing) with its own Emergency Hospital & first Aid Centre. At least then these "kids" will spare the road.

he will definitely be in jail... by then he will learn something... i can imagine the excitement on their face while their racing... really stupid...

Yeah i know thanks Shedbabe, lets just hope no one has to expeirence this type of crash.

Thanks junarc. i know we are lucky, if we were car number 1 or 2, it would be worse for us. If it was just an accident, i wouldnt bllame him as these things happen but the fact that he was car racing, there has to be severe consquences for this. I wonder what his penalty would be in this case? Is jail an option or will he just get a speeding fine?

but still luck is on your side... you and your kids must be terrified until now... anyways.. again thanks to God you're safe and with us QLing... :)

this is what really Qatar is ... no matter how careful you are in the road, no one can never say excuse to accidents...

even how we do care driving... so did everyone else does? i had been into driving with a horrifying minute of my life during the past few nights ago... link here... http://www.qatarliving.com/node/226830

hope the traffic police would give lessons to any road violator drivers ...

lol mj, actually i was the only female involved in this accident and you know how females get when they are angry, i did nearly everything but smack him. he copt a lot of flak, but then im not sure if he will ever learn his lesson.

mjamille28

somebody ought to pound this guy's head for doing that,...it might nail some sense into him, or then again, maybe not....

yeah, nadt, i am all for the seatbelt law, especially when i dont trust the person driving, it's the first thing i do when i get in a car...it was my first time to be in an accident as well since coming here to Doha...

Yeah MJ, totally agree, you have to be crazy not to wear seatbelt in this country or let kids roam free without belts.

Yes flammable, car racing, the nerve of this guy. I felt sorry for the Qatari who owned the car, he came to the scene after he was called. He was genuinely sad about the incident and checking to make sure everyone was ok. He trusted him with his 4WD, and the idiot is car racing in peak hour traffice.

By nadt• 20 Oct 2008 15:01
nadt

Brutus, i definately agree, he should go to jail. Luckily it was all just wrecked cars, but i am still thinking about that guy whos car got hit first, i beleive he was having a mild heart attack, i hope he is ok. It was scary watching him, he was very young.

i could relate to that, nadt....i was also glad i was wearing seatbelt when a car hit us from behind last saturday...

thanks flammable, yes we were very lucky, first thing i did was get out and check the kids, lucky as they are always in car seats buckled up, if they werent i would hate to think what wouldve happened to them.

I know nicaq, i was gonna kill him myself. He was honest to admit it, but damn irresponsible, the damage he caused. The way it happened i guess it couldve been worse, more injuries.

early this morning also with a flying landcruiser coming inside their lane from the right side... she's sitting in the passenger seat beside the driver so she's the one badly injured... Thank God she's ok now...

and on top of that, near rainbow roundabout i saw a bad car crash yesterday. A white saloon car crashed into central reservation and hit the light pole ... it is badly damaged, i think the driver also badly injured. The road was actually quiet, no other party involve, and you wonder how this could happen?

By nicaq25• 20 Oct 2008 14:52

Nicaq, the police oh well dont start me on them. 40 minutes on the scene 7 drivers and he still didnt get what happened..Finally he did, i left first as my car damage was just scratch, and bent number plate, they are still at it i believe.

hmm.. Must be a nasty one..

I have the feeling that because of new traffic rules, there is increased number of accidents happening at signals. I have seen many motorists break suddenly when they see the green light blinking. (thinking of 6000QR).

If the vehicle at front stopped suddenly, it’s really difficult to avoid an accident, with the speed we are travelling.

I was lucky to get escaped from few of those recently.

The best idea is to travel slowly when you are near to any signal.

1:00 - 1:30 I guess. I saw landcruiser crashed to another car (blue SUV/pajero,not sure) at the driver's seat. It looked strange though, the landcruiser was seemed to be coming from the opposite road?Landcruiser from Al Emadi bldg.side, the cars were hit coming from Mall R/A approaching Najma signal.

wow this has already made QL, no wonder why newspapers come here. Actually it was a 7 car pile up and i was number 7 to be hit. It was a flying Landcruiser (and no a Qatari wasnt driving it, it was his driver) who was having fun and trying to out do his friend on the road,(he admitted this to all of us and the police so im not speculating) lost control and flew across the other side of the road and hit a car and it became like dominoes.

I got out and blasted the hell out of him, i had my two toddlers in the back but thank god we were ok, as being the last to be hit.

I felt sorry for one guy who started to have heart problems and ambulance took him away, hope hes ok.

When will people wake up that speed is a killer and dangerous. How can you car chase with your friends at a peak hour.
