Is this somebody in Government's idea of a seasonal joke?

With effect from today, 25.12.07 you have to pay for your Exit Visa.

Nigel in particular will be annoyed.

I didn't see this in the Gulf Times (maybe tomorrow??), but there is a notice at the airport, and our Mandoob had to pay today to get an Exit Visa.

Great!

Super!

Smashing!

See you in the harp at 16.30!

In Saudi an exit/re-entry visa is 200 riyals. The Qatari visa is a bargain!

I hear today that also A few ministers in Qatar are not happy about this exit permit procedure but to integrated a new one will take time.

"Nigel in particular will be annoyed."

No. I've learned my lesson, and now have a multiple exit visa.

There is no logic behind exit permit, before just to keep control on expats and now just to keep control on expats pockets !!!

I just love this country. Exit is a privilege and you should be ready to pay for the EXTRA SERVICES that you order for your own self.

Deadly serious, I'm afraid.

So far, it seems like it's QR 10 for an Exit Visa, however...

this is surely the thin end of the wedge.

They told us that other charges were now appicable as well, but they couldn't confirm what they were (SNAFU! SSDD!)

I've got a photo of the sign - but my Arabic is pretty poor. Though I can 'translate' QR 500, 10, and 20.

Fingers crossed, eh?
