Tips to avoid summer fires by MOI
The Ministry of Interior has shown concerns over the risks of summer fires and offers these tips to ensure safety all around Qatar.

-Avoid Running all the air conditioners at the same time and for longer periods as it create excessive heat causing fire
-Avoid running exhaust fans for long time. Clean them regularly not to cause fire.
-Keep children away from power sources at home. Avoid low quality electrical appliances and use good quality wiring cables.
-Do not overload power outlets. Plug only one high-wattage appliance into each receptacle outlet at a time.
-Maintain your vehicle properly especially the battery and ensure proper electrical wiring of the vehicle
-Ensure safety of energy sources at home especially that of gas cylinders. Close them properly and ensure there is no leakage.

For any fire situation, windows and doors are also an important thing. They should be checked to ensure they open and close properly, in case they are needed as an exit. Develop and practice a home fire escape plan to ensure everyone knows what to do if the smoke alarm sounds. Impact windows can prove best to use during fire condition.
