He may have married her until "death do us part," but no one said anything about a large sum of money, DPA reported.

An Israel women left her fortune to her grandson, but only condition he divorce his wife, a lawyer for the grandson said Thursday.

The unidentified man, from central Israel, married his wife around 10 years ago, over the objections of his mother and grandmother, who even cut off all contact with him when he ignored their blandishments that his bride was unsuitable.

The grandmother died several months ago, and left her assets, worth millions of Israeli shekels, in equal parts to her two grandsons - but with the clause that the grandson with the unliked wife receive the money only after a divorce, or if he becomes a widower.

Grandmother did, however relent enough to say the grandson could also receive his inheritance if he encountered financial difficulties, or when he reached retirement age.

The grandson intends to contest the will on the grounds that it is unethical.
