Things I learned from Japanese Driving

Whist in Japan, i was very impressed by the way of driving there, people strictly follow speed limit, and then I learnt from a car exporter there that even second hand used car there have a big demand, and i asked why, the reason is the cars over there are in good shape and no major accident in the vehicle. Then I thought being a open society there could be tendency people may drink drive , but then i also learnt that even if any one in Japan drank they would never drive rather they have this taxi concept usually driven by couples, and one would drive the drunk passenger home and other would bring the passengers car home.
i also noticed that after three years or so, Japanese need to discard their car for a new one. There was no traffic issues there as every one followed lane discipline, no "cutting lane at all" I noticed that even small cars if they follow speed limits can drive on fast lane and there is no fear of tail gating. I asked my Japanese friend since everyone is in a hurry why would no one would drive faster, and he gave me the funny look like i was talking a taboo subject
Road construction happens in Japan as well, but a gridlock like what we experience here is unheard of and could become a national news headline.
Now in Doha if all of us apply the Japanese concept of driving , i think we could reduce the gridlocks , traffic and above all frustrations.
Even in their Local FM radio and phone GPS gadgets live traffic is updated so as to give heads ups to drivers on potential grid locks

I only wish and wish we followed a bit of Japanese way of driving here, we can enjoy the fruits of less stress, less blood pressure, save on energy and enjoy joy of happy living.

Hope they've designed Toyota Land Cruiser-San, Nissan Petrol-San with just 80 speed limit without flashing lights, OMG they give me High BP everyday. Imagine we are back into Camel days, sure now the top speed camels might even come loaded with flashing lights..and when it overtake your camel it will stare and Grrr..Grrr at you.

I read this somewhere.

Attitude towards work:

Japanese: "If they cannot do it, I will do it!"

Middle Eastern: "If they cannot do it, wallah habibi, how can I do it?"

I agree with Rip Cord but maybe, we can apply the system. It is all about discipline and Japanese are very disciplined people.

They are very conscientious also. I remember an incident wherein a driver of a bullet train (?) resigned after over 20 years of working with the company. His reason, he missed the line wherein he is suppose to stop THREE (3) times in over 20 years of working.

HE SAID, HE IS NO LONGER A COMPETENT DRIVER.

You can't compare the mentality of the Japanese to the Arabs or the Indians.

No one will follow their style here. Most of the drivers are patience less here. Most of the drivers who drives car here are either illeterate or half literate. Even if they are educated, they are either uncivilized or half civilized.
