Things that are socially acceptable now that were shocking a few years ago
Lots of things have changed in society – Some for the bad, some for the good..
What are your thoughts ?
1.People shack up before marriage
It’s now seen as a logical step to save money or rite of passage for couples before they decide to spend their lives together – It is now deemed normal and accepted. A few years ago society viewed it as living in sin.
2. Smoking is banned everywhere
Smoking used to be so widespread compared to today. When I was young, if we had dinner guests and some were smokers, they smoked in our house without even asking. It’s hard to imagine lighting up after take-off now, but Brits were smoking on transatlantic flights as late as 1990.
3. It’s not just sailors who have tattoos
Tattoos used to be for sailors and boxers. Now they’re everywhere on everyone.
4. Kids are less likely to play outside
Has anyone noticed ‘the lack of kids playing on the street and riding their bikes around the neighbourhood. Staying in your room all day and not venturing outside or visiting friends would be something that an ill person would do.’
5. It’s okay to be scruffy
It’s accepatable to be scruffy and the tolerance levels for stubble or a beard are much higher than they used to be.
And your Cuban shotputter, by all accounts, is a most unusual woman...most women prefer stubble on their men, but this one seems to prefer the stubble and all things manly on herself...no wonder she's still renting space in your head...must've been quite something lol..
Oh dear...i reread that and yes you mention scruffiness and stubble as two different aspects separate from each other...i read it as stubble being scruffy lol sorry...yes scruffy is more tolerated and I for one am glad it is, because I like nothing more than my well worn jeans and sneakers haha and the only concession I make is to pair them with a nice casual shirt...oh and a two day stubble of course haha...waiting for a day when it'll be ok to go to work like that haaah...
My Cuban Shotputter looked cute with her 5 o'clock shadow..
As for scruffiness.. I do believe that society finds it more acceptable to dress scruffily .. People don't always wear what the occasion deserves.
Not sure about stubble being scruffy...i feel every guy looks better with at least a 5 o clock shadow and best with a 2 day stubble...not to mention a significant percentage of women prefer the stubble look...
Tattoos have always been considered beautiful in the South Pacific region as well as in Africa. Smoking has always been considered a friendly social habit among the red Indians and the Asian populations. Living together before marriage has always been practiced throughout the world. Even I have. If kids had rich parents they played in the house which was a palace with a built-in garden. So, nothing has changed over the ages, only the perception of society. But that again is ruled by some "leaders" who put themselves in this position (without having the right to do so).
Society is always shocked about this or that, but I couldn't care less.
I was keeping it "safe" for a family site :O)
You forgot to include Tinder... ;-)
