There is no hangman in India

Interesting article. The question is why there is no hangman in India. Does it really need experience and art as the article purported it to be? I can't understand why they can't find someone. So many millions and they cannot train one of them!!! If they can't find a hangman, can't they have the murderer electrocuted? Strange.
It may sound trite, but execution is a skill..
What happens if the victim drops and does not die.. Theoretically he/she must then be released. Similarly, you don't want them to suffer too much..
cabbage...
i guess you're right. There is a mathematical issue here. I also guess there are many policemen in India who have got enough mathematical knowledge to conduct the execution or at least they can 'google' it or get advice/help from other countries and get on with it instead of waiting 2 years.
Perhaps firing does not require an art. Fact is: the criminal is sitting and waiting. He is being fed and taken care of. All paid from taxpayers money. The issue is: Why wait 2 years?
Sad to say but there is an 'art ‘to hanging somebody :-(
The rope length and the drop in order for there to be a death by hanging is a mathematical problem.
Don't make light of this issue - the people that do the hanging are qualified to do this.
Even with electrocution there is an 'art'.
To execute a person is not a job that can be done by anybody.
The problem is that there are no trained hangmen available because there have been only two hangings in India in the past 15 years.
I'm sure they'll find someone - actually WK is looking for a cushy job..
There is a certain stigma attached to such barbaric practise in Modern India. Youth is educated and I don't think someone in their right mind can handle the emotional trauma of killing a murderer. Probably a thailand style execution would be a better idea. (Though Thailand stopped it long time back).
