Terrible Parking in City Centre.

Terrible Parking in City Centre.... They charge us 18 riyal for 3 hours. I can buy a 1 burger meal on that money. I am very disappointed!

They should give consideration for a free parking not only if you spend 100QR in Carrefore, but also in the Stores, Shops and Restaurant inside the Mall.

Illegal systems, inefficiencies of people or establishments always foster because there are people who are ready to pay because whatever it is it makes them feel over and above others for that something, for sometime ...but what makes life even more amusing is when the same people cry foul when deprived of certain other privileges which someone bigger steals away from them just because he could pay or could cover his inefficiencies...and I love it all.

Yes. Validation for legitimate shoppers (those who spend 100 or more per hour of parking) may be a good idea.

Personally I agree with Fubar. It's much easier to park at CC with the new charges. And I am more likely to go there.

I stopped going to City Center long ago, bit since the paid parking was implemented I go there much more.

If you don't like it do the rest of us a favor and stop going. Then there will be more parking for those of us willing to pay a handful of riyals to do our shopping.

Perhaps the price can be increased on Thursday night and the weekend? The carpark is still full during these periods. I for one would happily pay double the current rates to go there at peak times.

Please stop going there! This means I'll find more parking spaces available next time around :)

going to the same system in Dubai and that s what suppose to be done from earlier , at least we can park peacefully there without lining hours finding a space , for whom don't like they just don t park there and I encourage to charge most parking in malls and shopping center and even why not installing the charging system when parking in the normal street.

I actually love City Centre since they've started charging. I was never able to get in there to grab my lunch within my 1 hour lunch break. 2 riyals made a world of difference to me :o) now I can park for 20 minutes to go in, buy my lunch and go back to work. Awesome!

stop going there, hit them financially by avoiding it so as to force them to revert to earlier free parking system and get their act together to catch the offenders who made them to come up with this system. It is only money that speaks here ...use that to your advantage.

Just a thought, and could help.

From what zirkwander said, if a customer went to a store aside form Carrefour that should also be taken into consideration,

If they are worried about private taxis, or other employees using the parking I guess item purchase from other stores will prohibit them from using the parking longer.

What is 30 minutes of parking use to be deducted from total amount of parking for every 50Qr purchase,

Just a thought,

it's only right that they charge for the parking at City Center. Prior to that new rule, you could hardly find a parking space because majority of the parked cars were from those people working near the mall and also those people who are just there to pick up passengers (private taxis). It's for the convenience of the customers really. besides, if you're not happy with their rules, there are still other malls in Qatar which gives free parking space, Villagio and Landmark to name some.
