Talk becomes fight

Sometimes we have a fight with a friend. Many times, you find that you even forgot what the fight was about. You just seemed to argue, and then stop talking to each other. Time goes by and you realize that you miss the friendship, and wished you could talk to your friend again. It is possible, and they probably feel the same way as you do. Someone has to take the initiative, and it might as well be you!

Sometimes a break up is the only way when you no longer feel comfortable being around a certain friend.

Especially when friends become arrogant in their ways that they’d rather die than say apologies or say sorry, or when friends no longer care for each other’s feelings and end up feeling their friendship is a burden.

Thank you for your kind words but being like me has it's drawbacks..Because I am not the attacking type I tend to be the one who get's hurt more in arguments. Many times I'll be just quietly seething cos someone said something incredibly nasty to me and I just let it pass. Yet I hold on to atonement and burying the hatchet cos I believe holding grudges cost far too much in comparison.

I always say sorry if am at fault...but if am accused for something I have not done... I don’t bother to justify myself..I don’t think I need to explain to a true friend!!

That's normal, specially when you see that friend very often, you start with a joke and end with a big fight.

Anyway if there were no 3rd party to solve this try to be the one who says sorry, if you really like that friend.

Yeah I sure know how that feels.. Sometimes breaking up with a friend can be as, if not more, traumatic as splitting with a spouse/partner. Ditto with conversations turning hostile. However I must say I am not the aggressive sort, hence whoever argues with me is safe from any verbal abuse and insults! And yeah more often than not I am the one who makes initiatives towards making peace, even when I am not at fault. Human relationships are far more important than our own egos, and life is too short to waste time going into logger heads.

Very true...normally I dont fight with anyone..cant remember when I had fought last..:). If ever something like that happen...I never think about them again...they don’t exist for me..I never take initiative to mend a friendship/relation. I know I am bad..:( what to do yaani..:(

Ok Lawa...no more katti..Dosthi with you!! :)

I do tht many times and then feel guilty but am too stubborn to apologize until the other does it :(

I am trying to change though :)

I guess its immature to fight on subjects that are independent of our mutual interests..cos we should learn to agree to disagree. When there's a clash of interest, this can be resolved through discussion and trying to get impartial and logical conclusions. Sulking away from each other is a bit childish.

Dear Rizks:

I am sorry that I made you angry by saying that your papdoms tasted like baburao's mother in laws pancakes.

I will meet in the Cafe at Street 21 to offer my apology.

and I just realized that I miss my long "lost" friend as well...

friendship is a two way thing...

Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.
