Tablet charging issue

My samsung tab 3 (8") 2 months old, still under waranty, is not charging when on or sleep. I have to put it OFF to be able to charge it, that too the charging in off mode is very slow.

I will be going to samsun service center, but was wondering if its a known issue and anyone has solution for it. Tried many cables, cables seems fine as i have same model another tablet, which is working fine with these cables.

Any idea, can anyone save me a trip to service center.
