Syria - What next

Watching the burial of the deceased (including children) makes one wonder what the world is coming to.

Then I see an interview with a rebel, who is dressed in full fatigues and heavily armed.

So what is actually going on in Syria and is the ouster of Assad the answer to the problems ?

Agree with Britex that "Disinformation is the order of the day and you never know who to believe."

The main thing is to fudge the lines of truth so that no one really knows and the truth can be twisted to suit whoever manages to cling on to power.

LincolnPirate said If it's "God's will" let's ...

If it's "God's will" let's just sit there and do nothing.

- Not true. God gave people brains, right? Always keep stiving to find a solution and never give up. The outcome depends on God.

True.. the gossip suddenly changes to reality and vice versa.

But when we say 3 countries are funding, we gotta stand behind facts and not just a few isolated containers that have rusty riffles and grenades..

The moment USA steps in to fund and arm the rebels would be very visible in terms of the damages these rebels will cause. Just common sense..

So far, all I see is dead civilians and a bare minimum of rebel retaliation.

Politics is never black and white. Disinformation is the order of the day and you never know who to believe.

how could anyone of you be that sure that US/Qatar/Saudi is funding the rebels? Is this the answer or is it the most logical answer told by Bashar and his dogs?

Syria has many rich people inside it and many Syrian people outside Syria are rich. It is not like the funding is directed to buying f22s, Merkavas and apache. In my mind, nothing stays so secret especially in a sensitive issue like Syria. It is not a game of xbox for countries to go and indirectly fund any group without saying it out loud because sooner or later it will be known.

To all of you thinking US/European countries are scared to step in Syria.. you are infants in politics... The rules of this game is to wait until you get invited...Obama is doing what Bush failed to do..

Just viewed Assad's rare speech to the Syrian Parliament 11am, Doha time (Al Jazeera) today. He appears to be defiant, perhaps in denial, still sticking to his story about terrorist elements in the country, ignoring the fact that nobody believes him and showing it - international govts had expelled Syrian diplomats from their embassies. He adamantly does not accept responsibility for the massare at Houla, notwithstanding there was info that those involved were pro-govt forces.

Having said all that, it is also true that the Opposition is very splintered and not sufficiently united - "Syrian opposition leader resigns, says group divided The head of the Syrian National Council, Burhan Ghalioun, stepped down on Thursday, saying the opposition group was splintered between Islamist and secular activists and had failed to live up to the sacrifices of the Syrian people."

This is a deadlock that does not lead to any resolution while the Syrian people continue to suffer needlessly.

From earlier news, viewed that the Syrian crisis is escalating beyond the point of no return. The Arab League's Foreign Ministers' meeting in Doha yesterday mentioned that this is the turning point.

We are hoping and praying for the best. Whatever happens, God's will be done.

is not like any revolution in the world !!!

The clearest evidence is the non-interference of the United States and the West in general they know the value of this revolution And Beyond.. and they know very well the
