street fright from a local

Hi!..

I dont know if ive posted this on the right forum, but anyways I jst wanna get ur comments.

If you all know this new road from Clock r/a (Airport Area) towards Corniche...U will be passin by the underconstrution road, where the old ras abu abboud bridge is located.

I was on my way to the corniche with my fiance' on my car. Just before we reach the clock r/a the car infront of me has suddenly stepped on the brake...so I cautiously I did the same coz if not I was gonna crash behind his car...which is a normal chain reaction. I couldve gone to the right side, but the street was busy..it was around 8-9pm... So the car behind me was so upset. A qatari driver on an expensive car. He was flashing on me, but what can his flashing do, I cant switch lane coz of the traffic. So he swirved to my right side, and he was shouting at my fiance', "I AM POLICE, STOP THE CAR" , again, normal reaction, why should I stop, there is no sign in his car that indicates his a police/ law enforcer. He followed us thru until, I decided to stop, we stop exactly at the foot of the old bridge. He ask for my license and registration. Then he was shouting why I was stepping on the brakes when I knew that he was behind me... Being panicky, I explained my reasons, but he was talking to someone on the mobile describing the our current location. Then finally my fiance step out of the car and ask him whats the problem and so on....He was screaming at the top of his lungs and was very angry... He questioned him who he was, why were together and where is my hijab!!! (coz i was wearing nijab in my license) But my hijab is out of the question! anyways, he didnt do anything, only shouting and shouting....until he said ok go!...

the next day, I asked one of my friends who is a local and is working in CID, I told him the story and he told me, I shouldve never stopped. HE said that even if this guy was a real police/law enforcer, he is not allowed to stop anyone while using his private vehicle. He also mentioned that If the guy who stopped us a CID, if I have violated something, he's still not allowed to do that, so I was told never to stop for anyone in the streets except when it is a police car who is approaching me.

as from the previous threads regarding the similarity of the incident you had, don't stop driving, go to the nearest police station, or immediately call the police!

be careful next time and you should have let him scream at the top of his lungs and wait for his vocal cords to explode!

trip na kontraem badtripen ah!

ouch...

I have a similar story..but surely not as epic as urs,

I was on the SLOW lane..and traffic in front of me stopped for the signal...and had to brake...guy behind me (yup u guessed..a land cruiser..) he started honking and flashing..lol..i was like...what one earth do you want me to do? drive over the other car?!

he was so bloody impatient that he turned right..and went over the pavement...i mean..if he was so busy..y choose the snail lane?!

I wish these people would get good exposure to how the rest of the world is...i mean..it would teach them come manners...
