I just moved back to switzerland,we are staying with my wife's parents at the moment. Here comes the story. My in-laws are going on a month long holidays, but want us to leave the house as my father in-law does not like anyone in the house while he is not here.so we are ending up renting an appartment for a month,as our new house is not ready for another month. So what do you guys think about that,i heard of people paying for housesitting.looking forward to your opinions

you're right spicemom! in-laws can be a source of family conflicts if you stay with long enough....

the in-law headache huh... yeah we all got that. Is better you stay away from them, as the story never end if you stick around. is not that you are giving up but silent treat and back off is the best and stronger way we can do sometime. good luck with any good outcome in this situation.

Doesn't matter fromph. It sounds strange but look on the other side and he might be good to you in many other ways.

Sometimes people have strange habits/decisions based on any of their past experiences which we can't fathom.

Hmm, that is kind of odd that your father in law wont even let his daughter and her husband stay in the house.  Does he have trust issues?
