Stand By and Watchers

How many times in your life have you come across injustice and crime and have just stood without doing anything?

We do not stand our ground and act even if we see severe injustice for fear of getting involved, fear for our lives or fear for the future of our families. We don't realise that if no one acts against such incidents the same might happen to us some day. I have come across stories of murder and rape in broad daylight in front of bystanders without any one bothering to raise an eyebrow. There was recent case of road accident involving a family of three and no one came to the rescue of the victims and two people died for the want of medical care.

Was just clarifying some points, and giving explanations as to why I would do what I said I would. Sorry again.

Bro Palancole was referring to God/Allah when he said "If He wills it" He meant nobody can harm us without God's will. Which is a part of our Islamic faith. That no harm can befall us or be evaded except by God's will. Barakhallahu feek!

No one has rights to harm anyone even if he wills.

FathimaH. Exactly! no one can harm you unless He Wills it.

Why should anyone be afraid or ashamed to stand up for what's right and just, when those indulging in wrongdoings and oppression do so blatantly without shame and concern? As a Muslimah, I will fear NOT speaking up against a crime and injustice, something sinful and cowardly, cos no human on earth can harm me more than my Lord if I am to earn His wrath.

Palancole ,,, You seem a good person :)

I know people with louder voices will be the first to face the problems, but you are right ,, why should we worry as long as we are right.

Continued from my previous comment:

I was and still willing to act as a witness to any crime I witness. I fear the day when I die, God asks me why I did not do nothing. Even here in Qatar, I stood up for my workers' right. I got told off after telling off the owner of the business. But I don't care. I have trust in God. I fear no one. I fear God only. We all belong to God and to Him our return. The worse thing that could happen to me is getting killed. Getting deported or lose my job would not be the end of the world. So, why should I worry?

We all must make an effort to help keep justice. It may come with a price but the satisfaction for keeping it is worth it. Its fruits are sweet.

To answer your question I would say NEVER. I have always stood for justice. I have always stood up against injustice. I have never seen someone being raped in front of me, but I have lots of times intervened in fights in which those fighting were complete strangers. I have never left someone unattended for in an accident. I would always do my bit. I was 14 years when I stopped a car in the middle of a car and asked the driver to take an old pensioner in a hit-and-run accident to the hospital. She died on my lap on our way to the hospital. People say I am acting foolish. But I don't care. I don't want to live with the regret of not helping when I was able to.

You can't change the world Brit....unfortunately.

You did the best you could.

I did that.. But I felt afterwards that I should have intervened..

So Thelonius, u mean that we have to be like those Chinese peoples? just take care on our own a**? what if we on a violent situation like that?

I agree with your sentiments. However as Rizks observed in another thread, we have become selfish and gutless. In many cases, rightly so because we are afraid of getting hurt if we intervene.

I still regret the day many years ago, when i saw a couple of locals spit at an Asian driver. I was too gutless to say anything because I had just arrived in the country and was afraid of saying anything for fear of deportation... :O(

I wasn't raised to walk by someone sick or injured and not do anything. Hell I wasn't raised to walk by an animal and leave it in that condition. The only time I won't/haven't helped is if I'm sure that they are already being helped as much as possible and I would just be getting in the way.

Thelonius ,,, It is really happening, but without any plans

BTW What are your expectations,,, who will be the last? :O)

bb it is kinda ironic to see you talk about justice as in the other thread you were saying it was pedestrians fault that he got hit by a car that violated traffic rules and went at a high spead on a side of the road when people were crossing the road.

Agree with sulie- i suppose to mention that chinese blind minded peoples activity, even tho recently a lady fell off from her scooter n injured coz a dog jumped on to her moving scooter she couldn't get up by her self but nobody gave a shyt.

BTW the law should be tight enough to vanish a crime, if it's doesn't nonsense of those laws n all, meantime we should compare the law n human rights,i saw some peoples arguing about the punishment etc, already we know about the law n it's punishment etc,so y we need to commit a crime or punishable activity. Justice is very important to maintain the mankind.

I am not a person who will just STAND and WATCH the deadly incident...I would surely help out..

But i have hardly come across such incidents in my life so far..

As i said before in your previous thread

It needs a Brave person in these situation, and when i say brave i don't just mean -Strong with muscles-

And also that could be different from a country to another, in some places people will not ever bother themselves looking, like what happened in china

"a 3 years old has been hit by 3 cars different times and people were walking beside her, and guess what No One helped the poor girl, there just waling bye, they didn't give a f"

and in some other countries people are so helpful

The final point -- If there were no Justice in the country itself, it would be harder for the people to think about each other-

It is a natural behavior of human that when they come home they want to have a cool down relaxing time after their busy hard work day. Being involved with such activities will have a longer mental impact on anyone's life since it will involve you mentally & physically. That's why most people want to leave the outdoor world outside and become watchers. I personally don't just stand & watch, I try to help in the situation as much as I am capable of.
