lol CBD, we are going around in circles. Its not true, that no one really cares, are you saying you dont care enough to start something? No you do care but to instigate any change it has to be organised and planned well.

nadt,

i think we are going in circles here. Why don't you start something? because you are afraid of implications. So you won't sacrifice what you have for spidermen, then you don't really care enough.

So does everone else.

It is good to see some sympathy at least by people in this thread, but no one really cares.

By nadt• 19 Dec 2009 20:42
nadt

Im saying CBD, intitate something yourself and maybe people will support you.

nadt,

I answered your question before you even asked it when I said 'who cares?!'

So my point is:

1- What you called 'step in the right direction' won't work!

2- Only marching and strikes and heavy stuff work, but people fear those because of its implications. People will choose this way only if they are ready to pay the price, and they won't be ready to pay the price unless they care.

3- From 1 & 2 above, no one cares except those who would pay the price.

I hope this clarifies.

CBD, you keep avoiding the question.

so how long are you planning to wait? and what will you do if this 'step in the right direction' is not at all enough and has proven ineffective?

By nadt• 18 Dec 2009 19:15
nadt

CBD this is what im saying, why not initiate something yourself? To effectively change things, it needs to be planned and implemented through proper channels, going against the law will get you nowhere. Things dnt change overnight, the fact that its documented and discussed extensively is a step in the right direction.

By CuriousButDetermined• 18 Dec 2009 18:56
CuriousButDetermined

nadt,

this issue is known and is documented in newspapers, arabic and english, so how long are you prepared to wait for? If you are passionate anyway.

Again, would you jeopardize your status quo for doing something concrete? because this is what it takes for change.

By nadt• 18 Dec 2009 18:42
nadt

CBD, going against the law(its illegal to march) on the streets here, getting yourself thrown into prison, is counter productive and plain stupid. There are other ways people can influence change and it takes time. But if your so passionate why dont you start something, im sure you will have support or followers, or are you one of those people that just wants others to change things?

By CuriousButDetermined• 18 Dec 2009 16:51
CuriousButDetermined

Who cares?

As long as we are well paid, that is what matters!

Most of you follow this philosophy anyway, you just don't want to admit it.

If not, you would be donating heavily and marching on the streets. This in turn may lead to your termination and unless you are prepared to pay heavily (including termination of job) in support of those poor labourers, you are just another thug.

I try to tell him the importance and the urgency then I shout a while then I end up doing the design myself. I can't force him to work after 5 as he correctly said, no overtime, no work.

Black buller they are simply not motivated enough to work and are always following the "Go Slow" technique. You tell them to move fast and you get the standard reply- we can only do this much in this salary.

Black buller you are sadly mistaken. I was working with a few labourers on top of a tower once during installation and during one of our breaks I asked them their salaries, none of them was working for more than 1000 QR.
