Spammer
The QLL forum index page currently has dozens of near simultaneous posts by a username 'tangmu'
Clearly a spammer.
The posts don't actually appear in the forum however.
Maybe a MOD has already dealt with them? But if so why do they still show in the index?
Is there an easy way (PM perhaps) to alert MODS to this kind of site problems without posting in public like this? I know about the 'Contact' option but I don't know who that goes to Mods/Owners/Admins or any combo.
Cheers
But there are no visible posts in the threads. 'Tangmu' currently still appears as the 'author' of more than a dozen posts in the QLL Index (Pages 2 & 3).
There is clearly a forum functionality problem as well as the original spam attack.
The main reason I raise it is that when I see elderly threads 'bumped' by obvious spammers not only do I not read them but it degrades the overall experience of QL.
This is not intended as a critique of Mods - who generally do a fine job - but maybe the site's spam blocking / registration could be enhanced to stop the rot.
Thanks.
Just now I checked the first five pages of the forum index but did not find any threads from the so called spammer.
I would suggest banning their IP addresses to prevent future problems coming from these Spammers and also SCAMMERS
