Light Room is nice and easy to learn. As regards downloading it, I have no idea. You can get a trial version direct from the Adobe website though. I bought mine from B&H.

ok.. thanks for th information is lightroom easy to use? cause i'm just using flicker when editing..(some very minor edits), do you any idea where to download it? thanks again

jazooon I hate Photoshop with avengeance. I am a photographer not an artist. I use Adobe Lightroom for archiving and minor corrections. In one of my shots I have desaturated the colour to produce a B&W image, and in all the rest I expect that I adjusted the exposure, but other than that, these pictures are as I saw them through the viewfinder.

EOS what? There are loads. Anyway it doesn't mater as long as it's a DSLR. Of course I will show you how to use it. Will sort something out with you soon ;)

I wish they would Victory. I have had one of my UK images used by the BBC once, but I would love to get published properly. Especially here in Qatar.

timebandit, those are exceptionally nice photographs. IMHO the praise is most definitely warranted.

And I do have a good eye for colour and composition, as I am an artist myself, albeit I do not do photography.

nomad_08 you are quite right composition is one of the key ingredients of photography, and without putting too much thought into it, one of the few that technology cannot help you with.

TB you forgot to mention 'composition' which played a great deal in making your pictures look interesting to look at :-)

Oh TB, I have no idea what you're banging on about, but I think I may have just fallen in love with you a little :-)

There is no photoshoping performed on my images as I don't believe in using it. Over use of Photoshop stops being photography and starts becoming art.

However I do use Adobe Lightroom to adjust exposure and crop.

I use Cokin filters on the front of my lens to create some effects at the time of capturing the image which is accepted in true photography. I use a star burst filter on some of the night shots, and a graduated ND filter for shots like the Corniche Sunrise. A polarizing filter brings out the blues in the Souq shots.

And thank you everyone else for your kind words. Photography is something I really enjoy, but my camera is a cheap one, and my accessories are all on a very tight budget. Believe me when I say that anyone with a nudge in the right direction could have taken these shots. But you will not be able to snap them if you leave your camera at home. Carry your camera and set time aside to go and look for the shots.

Nomad, it does take skill, thats why I am asking him what he is shooting. Different settings make a great deal of differnce when shooting with a DSLR. especially night scenes like these.

I'ts got nothing to do with the camera, its more of the person behind the camera.

WHat are you shooting with and what settings for your night shoots....

Indeed very nicely and to the perfection taken................clarity matters and that is what can be seen from the efforts...............only thing missing perhaps is brief mention of all places visited.............it serves as a guide for others as well to expirience the same......................
