full of single man hanging around = wonderful workers from industrial area hanging around doing nothing and if you go there they will chase you like wolves. even I don't dare to go there on thusdays and fridays. but have symphathy on them. They are less fortunate like Teaboys.

if you are a female and coming on your own, if i were you i rather to stay in muntaza hotel than mercure. It is down the souq and it full with single men hanging around ... especially in the weekend.

Ye$ your absolutely right! QR400 with breakfast & tax... isn't that bad compared to most of the Hotels. I'm also considering Mercure Hotel, the place look nice as i seen in there website... hope i can get good price:-) (i doubt it). I'm planning to visit on July but not sure yet....Thanks again!

you seem to know the patent of my moves lol. You are a jewel in QL my dear. Novita I noticed that you will not leave Doha soon. See you there.

Yes, they accept credit card lovern_cute. I doubt whether you will manage to get anything better than QR400 for 7 days. Mind you is not bad considering the prices in other hotels. This includes breakfast and tax. I will be back there on the 12th of July until I find a house. When do you plan to come to Doha? Hope I meet you.

May the roof above us never fall in, and may the friends below never fall out!

he pops in each day, I think. I saw he is advertising in QL classifieds for an apartment to rent, so he will be around.

Novita? Did you read that over my shoulder through my window? I actually think you really ARE my neighbour !!!!

Not sure what time zone he's on, but he will probably pop in sometime and see the rest of your question then. I know I shouldn't speak for him, but you may have been wondering why he doesn't respond.

Good luck!

It's an absolutely dry place...:(

Sofitel has a nice bar. Just made an enquiry on their website. At least 50% more expensive.

May the roof above us never fall in, and may the friends below never fall out!

in al Mansoura? I only found out the other day that there are two al Meeras in Doha

for the last one month. Very average but bearable (just). But staff are kind though not professionals. Wireless internet in the lobby and cable internet in all rooms. TV channel selection poor (unless you speak arabic) Ask for single bed room. You can push them down to QR 350 depending how many days you are staying. Otherwise it will be QR 400 including breakfast and tax.

May the roof above us never fall in, and may the friends below never fall out!

There is no more sofitel hotel, it is change to Mercure. And located downtown in the souq.

http://www.mercure.com/mercure/fichehotel/gb/mer/0546/fiche_hotel.shtml

Muntaza Plaza is somewhere between C and B ring road. It is walking distance to nearby Al Meera (local chain groceries shops).

No idea about the price though.
