So - its Nokia and Microsoft.
Was hoping that Nokia might have partnered with Google to start making handsets with Android, but sadly they have chosen Microsoft and the WinMo 7 OS whilst shelving Symbian.
It's a sad end really, I've had several Symbian phones - at least five of them - and with a basic candy car / slider phone, its a pretty good OS. However, with the advent and the current craze for touch screen phones, Symbian was left way behind by Android and iOS - and now Nokia have realised that they are way too far behind the market.
Symbian phones will still be selling - the recent E7 looks really nicely well made - and the proposed N9 may well be postponed now.
I've never liked the look or feel of WIndows on a mobile device, and this really brings to an end the great reliance I have had with Nokia - can't see me ever buying another one. It's Android ahead, and sad to say, but a fond farewell to the Finnish giants.
Survival of the fittest.
Yes mate, I'm surprised you hadn't already posted that !!
As I said though, it's a sad day for me, don't like Windoze, so I think once my lovely E72 bites the dust, I'll be moving onto something different.
