i dont know what i was thinking with the whole fairlady... shows how much of a nissan fan boy i am... i would rather spend my time and money on a nissan before a toyota... hahahaha
i had an S14 when i was stationed in okinawa ... and i miss every second of that thing...
i do agree the supras are easy to tune...
im glad to see more car enthusiests here... and maybe if they ever allow anyone on the tracks or make another track that anyone can drive on i will make a track car... or try to anyways...
Ummm, actually the 'Fairlady Z' is a Nissan term for the JDM 350z.
The JDM Skyline GTR and Supra both have similar power and torque as stock. The 2JZ-GTE found in the turbo Supra is very easy to tune, with around 400bhp and 350 ib/ft available from the engine with fairly simple modifications.
Depends what you want. The Supra is GT cruiser with loads of torque (in a properly tuned car - see Bootlogic's / Ryan Woon's 8 second 1/4 mile car!) and is great for blasting the motorways. The Skyline is lighter, and with the variable torque 4WD on the GTR is an ideal weapon for the twisty back roads!
I miss my Supra, I had to sell it when I moved over here
well when you say which will win... do you mean which stock car would win...
and when you say which stock car ... which version...
a toyota supra with twin turbos also known as a 'Fair lady Z' is capable of some serious numbers with some fine tunning...
many 2JZ motors are putting out around 900 to 1100 horse power on the stock block and mostly stock internals... with just cams and larger turbines you can do some serious damage to a dyno... but there isnt much torq coming out of the car... so its known as a dyno queen...
as for the skyline... if your talking abou the Gts-t then its sweet tits... but if your talking about the GTR... then you mean serious business...
the r32 r33 and r34 GTR's and the Zspec GTR are all some serious skylines... factory they are capable of spanking some of the most primered cars out there... and its no wonder the RB26 has been band from many endurance races around the world since the late eightys when it was first introduced...
the RB 26 has less displacement than the 3 litre 2jz fairlady and more torq and horse power after removing the factory bog downs for emesion standards...
and with some minor tweeks the skyline it self can produce major numbers such a 900 and 1000 horse power on a stock block... but unlike the Supra... it has the power and drive train to back it up on the track...
the GTR boasts an all wheel drive and an all wheel steering with the rear hickus doing it jobs...
NOW to get dangerous... The skyline GTR has what i like to refer to as a frankenstien cousin out there in hiding... because there are man modifacations to the motor... One of which is the 3.0 motor build... thats right you can bring its displacement up to match the 2JZ... and once this is done... there is no looking back...
so my money is on the Skyline GTR (preferable the R33 and R34 body styles)
I am not a big fan of the new skyline also known as simply the GT-R but... considering most people are not race car drivers then i think this car is fine...

NISSAN SKYLINE Man, its too fast and powerful that the Engine is over-designed for the body.

The new skyline seems to be really mean n kick @$$ .. according to a review done recently it was rated better than the 2008 carrera turbo..
i'm a fan of skyline and think its one of the best japanese sport rides .. followed by Honda NSX
I like skyline's design more!
