Shrunken Appetites
By Vivo Bonito •
Portions are shrinking and prices are growing. There is no doubt that many restaurants have increased the price of food items, while reducing portion size.
This is especially true in the case of "hunger relief" food such as shawarmas. It is interesting to note that a a roll of shawarmas or a plate of barbequed meat has fewer servings, also, while hummus or a thick sauce is being served without any olives. not only shawarmas, and a lot more...
It seems most restaurants are capitalizing on the current market conditions by increasing prices and cheating customers in return.
The question is who is going to regulate such acts?
The market will regulate such acts.
Shops offering good value will prosper, while shops offering smaller portions for higher prices will see a reduction in trade.
If someone was going to 'regulate' the value of meals, don't you think they would have to close down all restaurants in 5 star hotels for charging QR45 for a shwarma and QR15 for a coke.
YEP.. I AGREE DOHA IS BECOMMING AN EXPENSIVE PLACE TO LIVE IN . FIRST THE HOUSE RENT SKY ROCKETED AND NOW THE FOOD PRICES.
