"The protesters against west instantly branded as haters, intolerant, illiterate and terrorist and no one defend their freedom of expression."

Who says they aren't branded haters, intolerant, illiterate, terrorists? Did you read the comments under the YouTube video? Did you question the creation of a video that makes these people look like bigoted idiots?

No.

Has anyone here praised their message.

No.

Just because you aren't reading in papers HALF A WORLD AWAY doesn't mean they aren't being branded as haters. It just means, that surprise, surprise since you aren't living in the States you don't hear domestic news or what people on the local radio stations and tv channels are talking about. Just like people in the States have no idea what domestic news is saying about protesters in Bahrain or Oman.

Polkadots the correct term is Native Americans, not Native Indians. At least try to be correct before you bash something.

.....So and So Go Home????Look who's crying to whom?I would understand if it were the Native Indians[ What a Name!]crying out to the rest to pack up,....and like Arien said,to think some pple call this the American Dream!More like Nighmare!

That protest was not about 'fellow Americans ‘it was an angry mob spewing hatred against Muslims.

By anonymous• 6 Mar 2011 22:34

Nomerci.....what is this?...."Otherwise, freedom of speech and demonstrations are legal in the US." Don't tell me since it is legal they have right to spew hatred and should be tolerated. While those protesting against west should be branded as intolerant and terrorist.

Cabbage....that was not just anger. The protest was full of hatred against their own fellow americans.

Quite amazing to see someone criticize this when same kinda hate was spilled over, though under a different & banned ID, against Indians right here on this very QL.

I doubt very much if 'hate threads' are tolerated to be honest.

I think what happens is this; a lot react in an angry way and some just laugh and move on.

Sillyguy, where did I write that I am supporting them? Don't put false words into my mouth.

You read what I said, nothing to be interpreted otherwise.

By anonymous• 6 Mar 2011 22:01

Nomerci....."Yet, hate tirades against the West are not only tolerated but often encouraged." And what are you doing by supporting these american haters and loons?

"...that is because their countries usually do not have freedom of expression." Are you saying that they don't have laws so they have no right to express or protest?

By anonymous• 6 Mar 2011 21:38
anonymous

That was awful to see.

I know there are lots of Americans that don't follow that herd mentality; but if was there I would grab all of those protesting and charge them with 'hate crimes'.

Why don’t they all *ugger of and come back as the Klu Klux Klan.

Shameful.

sillyguy, that is because their countries usually do not have freedom of expression. Yet, hate tirades against the West are not only tolerated but often encouraged. Bit lopsided, no?

Nomerci...."Not different from what happens in other countries when they are not happy with the West." There is a difference.....the protesters against west instantly branded as haters, intolerant, illiterate and terrorist and no one defend their freedom of expression.

the fact is this is freedom of speech. Its hateful but they have the right to scream as they please. Sticks and stones..the playground jingle comes to mind. Kudos to those Muslims who kept their cool. The fact is as much as those haters dislike it, they are home and reaping much privileges that they might not get elsewhere! They know it and thats all that matters ultimately, Alhamdullilah!

Agree with both Pilgram and nomerci, and here is one of my favorite quotes:

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it".

Guess where this is coming from...?

Not different from what happens in other countries when they are not happy with the West. Well, a little different actually, nobody died and no flags were burnt. Otherwise, freedom of speech and demonstrations are legal in the US. As Pilgram said, freedom of speech does not depend on the cause.

Who's living as second hand citizens Arien? The Muslim women's group seems to have adapted pretty well to American life, and are even running fundraisers. Good for them for contributing to a healthy society.

And the red necks protesting...well...I'm afraid to say they're born and bred in the US of A (albeit in some tucked away trailer park with a lot of first cousin interbreeding).

By Arien• 6 Mar 2011 15:50
Arien

I still dont understand why people migrate and live as second citizens the whole of their life.

There's plenty of Anti Antisemitism in the States starwars, it's just the Antisemitism is so 1930's and antiislam is so 2011!

But seriously, there are vocal anti semitic groups, just like there are vocal anti-black, anti-asian, anti-mexican, anti-gay and lesbian, etc.

The point is everyone has to have their right to free speech. If you take it free speech away from one of these groups it's not long before you take it away from everyone. It's a slippery slope.

By starwars• 6 Mar 2011 15:24

My point is that we should not tolerate hate speech just because they have the freedom.

Kudos to those Muslim mothers ( with children!)who kept their cool.

It is freedom of speech. Why does it bother you?

I don't agree with it, I think they are morons, fine but they are allowed to voice their opinions. Just ignore them.

Yes it is freedom of speech. The same freedom that allows EVERYONE to voice their beliefs and allowed them to hold the fundraiser in the first place. You can't apply freedom of speech based on whether you agree with the person or not.

There are morons in all societies. Unable to think for themselves and easily lead.

the good thing is that they are in the minority - for now !
