This makes me ashamed to be part of the human race.

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. As my grandfather used to say...they should punish the wrong doers in such a way that they suffer as much as the victim did. I have to agree with that. Poor girl...I can't understand how parents can do anything even remotely close to that to their own child... I know children can annoy and emotionally hurt parents but this response goes wayyyy beyond that. It isn't the answer to anything but to create more violence.

They don't deserve to live, Oryx, but I don't think they should be afforded the luxury of a a quick death or a comfortable prison sentence (unless they have big hairy boyfriends in the slammer).

they use the word honour to justify brutal violent supression its horrible that it happens anywhere. but when it happens in my country with its history of female sufferage it makes me spew

how can a father kill his own daughter - in the name of his supposed honour?

these people don't deserve their children

Where's the honor, Oryx? Or courage, or nobility or morality in taking a human life?

Shameful acts by despicable cowards. What if the women started their own "honor" killings to settle the score with their menfolk? We'd be drenched in blood. Which reminds of another word I didn't use: Hypocrisy. These so-called men are hypocrites.

thanks for putting the word 'honor' in quotation marks.

i hate it when this word is used... there is nothing honorable about this

i haven't watched the film clip - but the recent case in the uk is abhorent and disgusts me that a seemingly lovely english girl is subjected to this in england.

As long as governments in the Middle East and Europe refuse to tackle these social/"honor" crimes head on for fear of tangling with religion and tradition then this will continue.

I was reading a 2 page article on "honor" killings in the UK and I really think it's time to crack down on this dishonorable crime.

about other people and then condemn them to be stoned? Its not even our place to judge if she conformed to our own personal morals. That's one of the worst things about gossip. Who's to say what she did or didn't do actually happened???? What's the old saying...those that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones....

It beyond comprehension that the security men and some bystanders stood by and did nothing to help this woman.
