Schools

A teacher from AlJazeera Academy has been sacked just because she made a unintentional remark about religion out of frustration and exasperation when she told her students not to eat lolipops in class and the children retorted saying, "its haram to waste or throw away food according to our religion". And the teacher reacted by saying "religion my foot".
I wonder if the students were given any punishment at all, instead they would've felt triumphant and would be encouraging scores of like minded people to do similar things.
when parents send their kids to AJA thinking its better than other schools in many aspects, and when the same parents become instrumental in smearing the name of the school by encouraging these kind of activities. Its not surprising that the school has such a high staff turnover! Since last year, I've known atleast 6 very hardworking and dedicated teachers leave the school. They are working for other schools or have gone back. Can we keep moving our children from school to school? Pls parents, I request you all( especially the influential Qataries) to understand that its of paramount importance that our children be educated and develop good moral values. For which we need to do our part in discipling our children so that they project a good image of religion and background.I request you to give your views on this and help stop such happenings in future so AJA is known as a school with children of good moral background.!!

i remember when i was at school, one of my classmates who was the kid of an affluent dad,cut up one of our teachers' dupatta(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dupatta) into shreds while she was sitting behind the unsuspecting soul in the school bus.my classmate got down before the teacher and the poor lady noticed the tattered shawl only when she got up from her seat at her stop.somebody told her that it wasd this particular child who was responsible for the 'mischief'.the matter was reported to the principal the next day and the father was summoned to the school.when asked for an explanation for his child's behaviour,he told the principal that she was just being 'mischevious' and such things should not be taken so seriously.my classmate told us that she and her family had a 'hearty laugh' at her deed and at the school's reaction!so much for parental attittude!

i'm sure my parents would have grounded me for a week!

the students are often the off spring of high up officials or members of the ruling family and therefore they do not get punished. I know of a case where a teacher tried to give detention to a group of boys but because of who their parents are they didn't do it. There is no consequence to their actions. It is best not to give the school/students any ammunition against you in cases like this maybe the teacher could have confiscated the offending items during class however I agree that the childrens reluctance to give up their sweets probably had very little to do with their religious principles. I say this as a muslim and a friend of a muslim teacher at the school who has first hand experience of the behaviour of the students. The school will continue to allow the students to do as they wish as they are a business and need them to make money. The route of the problem and therefore the answer lies with the parents and how they bring up their children. Until the parents complain about such behaviour nothing will change.

she must be terminated and before that to be judged, and that will be recorded in her file where ever she goes, because she don't respect the religion (Islam or Christian)

so I think she isn't qualified to be a teacher at all

The teachers should be more patient and understanding cause they have to deal with children of different nature, as for the children some of them need to learn the hard way(punishment)....I know some people are against harsh punishments in schools but since this rule the children have got way out of hands......Need to bring the old times back....no pain - no gain!
