Can Hillary cancel out Palin? The 'pitbull in lipstick' is so popular she has already been turned into a £16 doll

See attachment

Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton went on the road to battle it out for women's votes yesterday as abortion rose to the top of the presidential campaign agenda.

Democrats are hoping the former First Lady will help counteract the so-called 'Palin effect' that has boosted Republican John McCain into a narrow lead over their man Barack Obama in the opinion polls.

Mrs Palin's staunch pro-life views have suddenly turned abortion into the hottest campaign topic and the Democrats will have a hard job dragging the spotlight away from the 44-year-old vice-presidential candidate from Alaska.

As if to confirm how quickly she has captured the public imagination, two Sarah Palin dolls were launched today, less than a week after she accepted the nomination to be Mr McCain's running-mate.

Campaigning: But can Hillary Clinton cancel out Palin?
The first is Sarah Palin the Executive, dressed in the sort of suit she would wear as Alaska's governor.

The second, Sarah the Super Hero, has a long black coat, a white mini-skirt and a revolver strapped to a thigh.

The 12-inch dolls, costing around £16, are produced by Hero-builders in Connecticut. Founder Emil Vicale said: 'I expect the the gun-toting doll will sell the better of the two. She's tough, she's a hunter, a real action hero.'

Golliwog is a dark (black) doll with frizzy hair, big eyes and a huge smile. Usually dressed in a striped blazer and pants, this was the trademark displayed on jars of jam and marmalade made by the 'Robertsons Jam' company based in Droylesden, Manchester. Robertson's were forbidden to use their trademark some time during the late '70's/early '80's because it was considered to be racially insulting to people of African/Negro origin.

I don't think an Obama doll would be acceptable. Just recently a rubbish collection crew in the UK were reprimanded for displaying a large golliwog on the front of their truck.

Do you think that a Barack Obama doll would work in UK since they banned both Golly Wogs and Golly's off Jam Jars! It would be wonderful if they allowed them again as for every 10 labels from Jam jars you collect you get a Golly Wog Badge! Yippeeeee! Met thinks its gin time - hic!

The rain coat must be of Moose skin, she must be the next Dark Knight Princess, because "IS THE WILL OF GOD, according to her conviction."

Of course, all “Those republicans folks are OBVIOUSLY captivated with her 17 year daughter, solo pregnancy and that true red neck boy from Alaska as the father.

I would love to see her outfit for: the hockey mom, fishing mom, and the Hunter mom.

Wake up America! If you vote for them you are ignorant as the moose, she already killed.

And I thought Barbie was ugly!

If you could choose one characteristic that would get you through life, choose a sense of humour.

Its going to get interesting..

A new political crisis has erupted around Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin after evidence she billed taxpayers for 312 nights spent in her own home emerged.

not even a week and she is already lying about not wanting that bridge to nowhere.

she's ready to take over from cheney, that's for sure.

i can believe so many people are so ignorant as to believe mccain and palin represent change.
