RISING TEMPERATURES: VERY IMPORTANT!

Dear Friends, I share with you what the kind ladies from ILPG have shared: PLEASE DON´T OVERFILL YOUR GASOLINE TANKS, HIGH TEMPERATURES MAKE IT DANGEROUS.

Tragedy at Villagio is unbelievably heartbreaking.

When incidents like this happen we raise all kinds of questions, as we personalize the situation. Even if none of us was there, it affects us all and brings up past traumas. While it is not a time for speculation or finger-pointing, it is a time to share our shock and sadness.

We should all give a minute of silence for those who died in this unfortunate tragedy and for their families.

I urge all parents to talk to their kids, educate them about similar cases, give them opportunities to express their opinions as well as define reactions, discuss with them about how important it is to move quickly and quietly out of buildings in an orderly manner and to listen to official persons for possible important life-saving instructions.

As parents, you can help your children by talking openly about such events, answering their questions, and remind them how important safety procedures are, as time won’t be enough to teach them if the unforeseen happened.

The following are two sites you may want to share with your children and view some videos about fire safety.

I am also reminded of an article on surviving disasters that you might find interesting:

Wishing you all safe and god bless all our beautiful kids,

SUBRAHMANYA, normally I would agree with you if it is a matter of taste but this is confusing people at best. On matters of safety and safe practise you should be 100% sure of the facts not just posting it because you received it in an email. After this weeks events people should know better.

The weather isnt the only cause of many rising temperatures in this country at the moment.

Flashpoint of gasoline is about 300 degrees C, while diesel is about 200 degrees C. I dont think it is likely, and i have never heard of a gas tank exploding due to over heating in the sun... but that of course doesn't mean it can never happen?!

Why would you want to educated children on how to fill the tank on your car? Do you get your kids to fill you car with gas when you go out?

Some days I wonder why I even get out of bed.
