Respone to Fitness First Accident thread
I think most of us QLers are already aware of the Fitness First accident that oocured last weekend. A lot has been said --- who's to blame, are the staffs qualified, and so on....

Instead of having these discussions, why don't we join hands in giving something to their family. Based on the story that I was able to gather, the deceased has his wife and kids under his sponsorhip. According to Qatar laws --- correct me if I'm wrong --- if and when the sponsor leaves the country or in this case, dies, the individuals under his/her sponsorship must leave the country as well.
I hope that we can start the ball rolling. A small amount will go a long way. Calling on QLVG, Exercise/Yoga Group, Fil-Expats Group and all QL members as well.
I think its like this in the rules of the State, if the husband ( the sponsor ) has deceased and his family was under his sponsorship, then they ( his family ) can remain in the country until his iqama expires. Till that date they cant be forced out. Plus they can travel to such countries where visa is not required which in most cases would be their home country. Hope somebody will confirm this rule too here but Im pretty confident on it.
1. If the deceased has a life insurance (personal or company provided).
--> You see, some companies in Qatar have this as additional benefit for their employee. It would help the widow and their children somehow.
2. Who would shoulder the plane expenses for transporting the body of the deceased?
--> Will his employer pay for it or the family?
3. Since it's unexpected, is there someone arranging the funeral back home? That would also cost a lot.
These questions maybe seem irrelevant, but we must think what the surviving spouse and children will inevitably face because of this unfortunate incident...
What is needed?
Count me in.
I've done my part.
