Ashraf Marwan (Arabic: أشرف مروان) (b. 1945) was the husband of Mona Gamal Abdel Nasser, the daughter of the former Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser. Marwan died on 27 June 2007 after falling off a window of his flat on the fifth floor in London. The Body was repatriated to Egypt on June 30th, 2007. Burial ceremony is scheduled for July 1st 2007 in Cairo.

Dr. Ashraf Marwan, who had previously been accused of being a senior Mossad agent operating in Egypt prior to the Yom Kippur War, is found dead below the balcony of his home in London. Scotland Yard investigates the "unexplained" death. (Haaretz),(Guardian)

Ashraf Marwan & Mona Gamal Abdel Nasser had two boys, Gamal and Ahmed Marwan, who are in their turn businessmen with questionable ethics and morals.

Gamal Marwan, a communication magnate, is being sued for fraud by Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris. In 2001 he was also sued by the SEC CaseNo: 33-7957 (Defendant: Gamal Marwan Release Nos. 33-7957, 34-44027, Plaintiff: SEC, State: CA California). Gamal Marwan, who is banned from traveling out of Egypt, obtained a special permit to travel to London with his family in order to repatriate Ashraf Marwan's body.

Ahmed Marwan is the head of Sigma Capital, an investment banking firm which (more than once)had been bailed from bankruptcy by the late Ashraf Marwan. Ahmed Marwan, was married to Hania Moussa, daughter of Egypt's former minister of foreign affairs and current secretary general of the Arab League, Amr Moussa.

Refaat Ali Slueiman el-Gammal (Arabic: رفعت علي سليمان الجمال) (July 1, 1927 – 1982), better known as Raafat el-Haggan (Arabic: رأفت الهجّان) in Egypt and as Jack Beton in Israel,[1] was an Egyptian spy who spent 17 years performing clandestine operations in Israel. Most information about him is still confidential.

According to the Egyptian Intelligence Service, he moved to Israel as an Egyptian Intelligence asset in 1956. He was well-known in the Israeli society and was involved in commercial projects. According to the Egyptians, he provided the Egyptian intelligence service with important information while operating a tourism company as a front. El-Gammal's intelligence concerned, among other things, the Six-Day War and he had an important role in the Yom Kippur War by providing Egypt with detailed engineering data about the Bar Lev Line. El-Gammal is considered a national hero in Egypt.

According to Israel, the information published by Egyptian intelligence is pure fiction. However, after pressure from the Israeli press, the Mosaad said that there was an active and well-placed agent, never suspecting Jack Bitton.

The Israeli press then discovered Bitton's past. An Israeli newspaper wrote that Jack Bitton was an Egyptian Jew born in El Mansoura in 1919. He Arrived in Israel in 1955 then left it for the last time in 1973, after developing friendships with prominent Israelis such as Golda Meir and Moshe Dayan.[citation needed]
