just wanna ask how to distinguish a real CID checking for your pataka from a FAKE once coz i have read articles of some people or group immitating or pretending to be CID's but with different intents in mind.

A real officer, like everywhere else in the world, will introduce himself & show you his ID. which will say Ministry of Interior/CEID on it & will only then proceed with anything else...a fake one won't,simple...

....no mallrat....they normally check the QIDs...just to verify if the people residing there have valid Visa and RP....that's it.

....its a routine check conducted by CEID, Police & Lakhwiya....normally in Bachelor's Accomodations. But you can always ask for their Official IDs.

they just opened our door this 1am and immediately asked for our pataka, so we showed them. some of them wear ordinary clothes and 3 smaller guys behind wear the white qatari attire. after showing our pataka they just left. my only concern was that they never knocked and they never introduced themselves. this is a serious concern because such acts can easily be immitated by anyone and they can fool unsuspecting victims.
