I worked on a ground investigation for the re-development of the Qatar National Museum on the corniche in 2003. it included an ambitious plan for a tunnel out to sea and an aquarium in the bay.
does anyone have any news on the progress of the project?
and yes it would be a v short discussion, im not a planner fortunately as if i was then having the patience to survive the middle east would come naturally to me!! no no i am a simple engineer! lol
UPDA... Urban Planning and Development Authority... sorry for the acronym, name is self explanatory I guess... and since you don't know about them, what you think about them would be a very short discussion wouldn't it?
of course im excited i know doha pretty well but haven't been there for nearly 4 years so am intrigued by how it has changed and developed since i was there last! im also excited about my new job and the climate etc etc so sorry if my excitement is a little too much for this board but your stuck with me im afraid! haha
alexa - yeah i gathered that patience was a virtue, one that i hope to re-discover when i come out!!oh and just so you know there wont be anything lost in any of my holes!! haha
haha and i thought the UK planning system was protracted! yeah i knew it was part of the larger re-development plans i just stupidly thought that there might have been some progress in 5 years!!
i bet it wont take that long for them to build the high rise towers i'll be working on when they are for commercial use!!! lol
