oh count me in too! the work hrs are just disgusting! GM expects valuable output when there is nothing to be done...add to it long unpaid hours. they dont know what overtime pay is!

Damn, you get the crappiest week. If your gut tells you not to trust your management, dont. Have you signed a contract with them? Charge it to experience, don't look back, pray hard, stiffen your back and apply. Why dont you try IPEDEX, NES or HIGGS & HILLS? They are all british run. Admin Assistant/Secretary, you may ask for QAR 5,000 minimum, depending on your qualification and work tenor. Now, this sponsorship transfer, you will be paying a fine if it is not transferred on time.

... today, that Eid El Fitr is only for locals.

We as western company dont have right to this...

How are we going to work if you close the office? - was my question.

You must stay available, we want result when we come back - was the answer

I feel like a w**re, honestly.

This is not a contract, this is slavery.

War looking for peace,

is like fornication looking for virginity.

I am still in the office with four western colleagues. We work from 8.00am until around 7.00pm everyday and are pretty much fasting as well. Our "colleagues" come in at around 8.30am and are gone by 1.30pm.

These 30 days seem to last for ever. They really do.

Just call me Tigasin. That's what I'm talking about

- Saturday (13th Sept) - boss came back from month long trip; gave him my papers for his signature for visa transfer because previous employer gave me till Monday (15 Sept) or else they will cancel it.

-Sunday (14th Sept) - paper still unsigned but the boss is running me over with deadlines this and that; questions this and that;

-Monday (15th Sept) - received a call from previous employer; visa to be cancelled soon...Grrr. Only then I found out that I need to get a bank clearance so he will since my papers.

- Tuesday (16th Sept) - bank told me I need a salary transfer letter for me to get cleared but when I asked my boss, he said he can't sign coz I'm not under their sponsorship....WTF????

- WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY - I filed a LEAVE coz I couldn't think straight but they keep bugging me with calls.

THEREFORE: they can keep their signature coz I've had it...what's the use of working my butt off for people who won't give me what's due to me...I hate to say this but i should have trusted my gut feeling not to trusts people from the "land of the pyramids"...

Sometimes fasting is good for our health (our body needs a shut down) Maybe he can bring something to eat while at work (for sure there is a separate kitchen for staff where they can have a bite)

My husband has been forced to fast while at work. His company shuts down the cantina and then delivers a box of food to those non-muslims who request it. Only on 1 day so far have them actually delivered him any food. Since he is being forced to fast, he is now working ramadan hours and leaving at 2pm (which is several hours past the others).
