RALLY IN SUPPORT OF QATAR BID FOR 2022

By captkhan

Hey QL.

Does anyone know of any rally [ car or people ] or an demonstration by the local people being conducted to show interest of the locals to the visiting FIFA team.

we had planned to do a kind of air rally with banners hanging out of our aircraft's,but were not given permission by the authorities as non of us was a Tug Pilot.

So are any of the members interested to do so.if so, what are the procedures.

The biggest question is,even if Qatar wins the bid will the national team stand any chance to qualify for playing the qualifying round

you don't need to replay on each & every post

Many Qataris also share the same sentiment posted here & express so in local Internet forums

As i written in many previous posts, the bid book is already submitted & the FIFA's delegates are already in town ;)

You better go back and take some good rest in your country :P

XceptionalGreat, qatar is our home as well so we have every right to criticize.

don't get so defensive just because we have differnt passports.

I agree with Qatartattee...

Seriously hope Qatar do not get it..this country hasnt yet reached to its level...

There is no sense of service at any govt institutions...still not ready to accept the multiculture evvironement...if you are not a local/Arab the treatment is inferior!

There is no proper transport system, be it taxis, buses or trains..

Life is laid back...afternoons are almost dead..

No road manners..public system is weak...

rent is too high..you pay a lot more than what you get...

Not sure how its gonna be if we win the bid...

It would be more worse...

I live in this country..and seriously hope for a change here...but winning the bid would worsen it...

By anonymous• 14 Sep 2010 23:47

Nice speculation but you are wrong. Since you lost the argument, you are just bitter about it. Oh i have heard enough about your country your country. So, let me tell you this...don't show yourself to the Qatarbid committee they don't want any match fixing at FIFA 2022, lol Sorry if THAT hurts hahahaha

By XceptionalGreat• 14 Sep 2010 23:21
XceptionalGreat

You are working for Qatar because there is no job for you in your own Country.. right ?? Sorry, if it hurts.

So, you must learn to respect your godfathers (sponsor) and their Country (Qatar) !!

hahah...i dont think its lost on you... that too in English

mate!

all of Nostradamus's prediction are not about end of the world, i can see some of those are about 2022 bid.

Exactly my point expat

By ex.ex.expat• 14 Sep 2010 22:10
ex.ex.expat

your point is lost on me.

I am not predicting the end of the world, or even Qatar. I am just saying that I find the attitudes of some people who seem to care little for their compatriots discouraging.

By TailChopper• 14 Sep 2010 22:06
TailChopper

exexexpat you sound like a modern day nostradamus...

here is your quatrain (of generalization)

and Labour abuses that will increase if Qatar wins this bid ut some of the most ardent supporters are Asians whose own countrymen will be exploited if Qatar receives this bid. ...when the steel birds...

By ex.ex.expat• 14 Sep 2010 22:01
ex.ex.expat

and Labour abuses that will increase if Qatar wins this bid? Do you really want to see more Asian workers mistreated here?

I can understand Qataris supporting the bid, but some of the most ardent supporters are Asians whose own countrymen will be exploited if Qatar receives this bid. :(

By anonymous• 14 Sep 2010 21:32

I don't know what kinda delusional life you are living & writing in bold doesn't make you right.

Its a very general response cause nobody likes prices hiking regardless of any country. And for your info, i am getting a whopping salary so when any other company in any country will top that. I definitely will go there. But regardless of my riches i still do not want to see any price hiking just like any other person in the world.

And for your kind info, Qatar is not paying me for sitting on my ass. I am WORKING for them, that's why i am getting paid.

By XceptionalGreat• 14 Sep 2010 21:04
XceptionalGreat

You first answer my question.. then only I would ask you anything else...

Why don't you find a job of your choice in a Country of great work culture, with a whopping salary package.. if you are so much concerned about so-called 'human right violations' and 'atrocities' in Qatar ??

Dear, you MUST be thankful to Qatar as it has given you an opportunity to prosper, better than your home Country !!

By anonymous• 14 Sep 2010 19:07
anonymous

XceptionalGreat

Yeah yeah i have read it plenty times, that if you don't like it here then you can go back to your home country blah blah blah.

Got anything new to say?

What salary increase are you talking about? The government doesn't check or go to all the offices and ask people if they got any salary raise. I still know plenty people who work for the same salary before & after the Asian games.

Don't you think that attention of international media because of World Cup would eventually lead to labour reforms here ?

Try telling this to the man who pays and decides what will be the salary of labor. On paper they will increase it but we all know what he will eventually get.

I agree no body knows what will happen till 2022 but there will be still foreigners living here who will suffer great because of the hike. And its not called selfishness its called thinking about everyone & all classes of people

By shapil• 14 Sep 2010 18:47

I support the bid...yalla...lets open the quotations ;)

By XceptionalGreat• 14 Sep 2010 18:43
XceptionalGreat

It shows nothing but your selfishness Qatartatta..

You have come to Qatar to earn bread & butter to feed your family.. and you still don't wanna see its progress?? What kind of creature you are ??

Don't you think that attention of international media because of World Cup would eventually lead to labour reforms here ?

If the rents will increase, you can expect an increase in you salary too. Still, if you are not satisfied with the living conditions and you are so talented, you can anytime go back to your home country or elsewhere to find a job of your 'choice'.

My friend, be positive and support Qatar's bid.. believe me, it will be beneficial for all, you, me, locals, labour.. all the residents, Middle East !!

By anonymous• 14 Sep 2010 18:37
anonymous

Agreed with qatartatta comment regarding the hike in the rents ,but I really don't care whatever may be the result of the bid

qatartatta... we are talking about 2022 so another 12 years.. who knows if u or us will be here till then.. and have families here..

lets deal with the present.. and be happy..

thnx for ur support Xceptional.

* Tailchopper..

Qatar does stand a chance bcs there are quiet a few things which might help it .

*first country in the middle east. as this well help build good relations in MENA and being supported by other ME countries

*first country where you can watch 2 games a day. having less to travel and spend on travel, accommodation etc.

*first country to dismantle the stadiums and donate it to poor countries where they cant even build a stadium..

and many more plus points.. but no doubt we gonna have some competition..

check out a article sports page in today's gulf times.

By anonymous• 14 Sep 2010 18:04

I do not support it coz rents & prices will sky rocket once again. People will be forced to send their families back home coz they cant afford the rent & prices rise. How can you support something like that?

By XceptionalGreat• 14 Sep 2010 17:56
XceptionalGreat

*qatartatta..

If you are not interested to support Qatar, please do not discourage others atleast.

And who told you that the committee wants to see some work in HR here. Are you nuts ??

mr. khan i personally think, australia is a better contender, source: if you will read the articles by critics....

but i hope for and support qatar, because this will be helpful for the country in many ways..

thank u for sharing ur thoughts mr.tatta.. but some ppl would like to showcase their interest n love towards bringing the world cup to Qatar.

Don't worry if any such thing happens, will let you know so u don't get F UP in the traffic and become a problem for u.

By TailChopper• 14 Sep 2010 17:12

right gabbar singh..it was expected from you

mr. khan great idea, i support you

By anonymous• 14 Sep 2010 17:10

Khan sab, just stay home. Don't F up the traffic and be a reason of problem for others. Doing these stupid rallies and dumb support shows wont help the committee or the people in qatar. The committee wants to see some work in Human resources & human rights here. They don't give a rats ass about rallies which worsens the traffic. So like i said, don't become a reason for others problem
