A question from a visitor

Hello All...

I have been visiting your forum for several weeks now and gaining all kinds of information about Doha and Qatar while contemplating a decision to accept a position in Doha.  I found your website to be incredibly informative and helpful.

My husband and I have been given an opportunity to visit and I was wondering how long the travel time is from The Marriot to Education City as it appears we will be traveling back and forth from the hotel to Education City quite a bit during our stay.

We are also going to be given an opportunity to view compounds in the area and I was curious if anyone would have a good idea as to what compounds would most likely be available to employees in Education City and what they were like.  I realize this is a vague request but I am more anxious about living arrangments than anything else at this point.

Thank you in advance and thank you for offering such a great resource for people looking for information on the "ins and outs" of living and Doha!!

There are some nice, new compounds being build in the Gharafa area which is not far from Education City.

Maybe 15-20 minutes from hotel to Education City. There are no hotels really near this area of town.

Make sure you pick up a Marhaba (Welcome) book while you are here. Some good info in there as well.
