Question about Airport Taxis

I've never used Karwa airport taxis (to go to the airport), but will need to call one when I'm going on vacation next week.
How well in advance should one book them, and do they show up on time? Do they seem to find people's home location without problems? (when the guy from Qtel was coming to install my phone, he had a hard time understanding the location of my home).
Would appreciate any feedback on this. Thank you in advance.
I always use Karwa to airport - all hours of the day and night - and have never had a problem.

now the flag down rate is QR 18 from airport.
once i used Karwa taxi for foing to airport and that was a good experience... time to pickup was 3:00am and they called me at exact time that Taxi is waiting... this was in end of 2006... after that i never get a chance... it can be one reason that afterward when i tried to call taxi they answered all are booked till say 11'ó çlock....
I've also used Fox Transport 462 2777. Whenever I've called Karwa they are always busy/booked, so I've never actually used them.
Dont use Karwa for going to the airport, use a limousine. We usually use this 2 guys to pick us up from the house :

When you come back from Doha, dont get the posh BMW and Jaguar cars that offers you a 'taxi service'. We did once and they want QR 100 from airport to our house in muntaza. When we asked for receipt they drop down to QR 50.
Usually there will be a Karwa taxi rank outside the arrival halls, and there is 1 guy who looking after the queue. Best you just use them ... I think the flag down rate is QR 10. Then after that they charge by the meter.
