@Aikon, I haven't been looking at this thread. Did you bother to read my posts? I'll quote for you.

[AT]aikon, I'll bet you money that voda goes through it's Initial phase by July ;)

Initial Phase = out in the public, staff being hired, on the Qatar stock market.

I wonder what Starlink's role would be once Vodafone arrives in Doha, Qatar...

As experienced, people will not really say bye bye to thier old number that easy - what's going to happen then is that people will have at least one sim for each network... Qtel will continue its business and Vodafone will go along... in the end, it's layman's budget to rise and business owners get richer... Hope I made sense.

I just don't know the number of complaints, but does Qtel really sucks? I've been a year here in Qatar and yes, there are really problem with them but to the extent of hating (the other seem to feel this way) the company, back down a little, guys.

If the price is concerned, do not compare it in Manila as we are earning more here. If service, do you honestly believe that Vodafone will be a better one (of course one will say that there is a choice - what, a better or worse). Judge Qtel when there is already a competition, not now. Unless you suffered the whole year round with Qtel, fine, you have the right to complain, but if not (isolated one), then do complain but do not invite others to follow suit.

Its not that simple.. I have seen this happen in a few countries and found that on the whole, the services offered are the same..Vodaphone might come in cheaper on some services, but Q-Tel will folloow suit..

mind you its better for us the customer, because we will have a choice.

you have to give me realistic goal.

Nobody can find a gym, pool, tennis court and what not for 5k.

I still don't know what I get out of this if I'm right though.

vodafone is a great company, in service and quality, but regarding cost, will it be better than qtel, who will set the prices, the market or gov?

Even if Qtel DOES own it in some way or another, it'll be totally managed by Vodafone.

At the end of the day, thats what we all want, better business management.

a similar thing thing happened in UAE.. but it actually made the employees compete.. not the companies.. at the end of the day.. the owner gets more business due to this business... but it does matter.. i mean it will change the company's way of workin..

Xena is definitely correct, it runs by the same company, so what do you expect? what would be the difference?

to make much difference.... its still owned by the same people indirectly... do you think Q-tel will really let competition come in a take a chunk of their $2bn profit?
