Qtel promotion for few 'Customers' only!!!

SPEED
By SPEED

Vodafone Qatar chief executive officer Grahame Maher has ‘welcomed’ Qtel decision to offer international calls at Dh29 a minute as part of a promotion.

“It is good to see competition working. At the end of the day customers’ benefit,” Maher said.

Early this month, Vodafone had announced an international call offer at Dh50 a minute.

Maher, however, said he was disappointed at Qtel excluding a large number of its customers from the ‘Dh29 a minute promotion’.

“Only Shahry – post paid customers - are eligible to benefit from the cheap rates. By Qtel’s own statement, a majority of its customers are Hala - pre-paid customers. It is sad they have been excluded from the promotion. Vodafone believes communication should not be for a select few,” Maher said.

we have had many promotions on different productions, all these promotions are given to the customers on a selfish motivation. promotions are given to pull more customers towards them. at the end both are gained.

so, hala users switch to shahry... enjoy ramadan.. talk more usefull things... dont flirt to spoil your fasting.

q-tel is not loosing with 0.29qr

but the same feature costed 2.5!

so the 2.5-0.29=2.21qr/min was all profit? or...stealing?!

ouf!

that's what's wrong with third world countries; monopoly.

tobacco companies are paying damages caused 20-30 years ago. afro-american and africa are demanding compensation for 16th century slavery. can someone tell me who will only, just only, ask consumer protection what the heck were they doing all these years? selling a less than 0.29 for 2.50 or 10 time it cost? and a 100 sq.m apartement rent for 2000$/month while 60% of doha residences are empty?

erm...one more thing that nobody seems to have noticed...The Q-tel low rate for Shahry customers is valid ONLY on the minutes in your pack,so the Shahry 130 or whatever it is,offers 300 minutes, the low rate is valid ONLY on those 300 minutes, once you cross 300 minutes,"regular q-tel rates apply"...Q-tel always has the fine print mate unlike Vodafone,ok they're new to Qatar but they're a global telecom giant with years of experience in global markets,Q-tel on the other hand is a local telecom provider...for one of the smallest countries on the planet & is just making it's 'international' presence felt now,if you can call Indonesia & Oman "international" presence...so let's give credit where it's due, fact of the matter is,there's no ceiling on Vodafone minutes,AS MUCH AS YOU WANT @ Qrs. 0.50 & Q-tel ladies & gentlemen just can't match it...well they can, considering the amount of money they've made off the population in Qatar, they can offer it for free...

vodafone offered flat rate of 50dirhams on all international calls...not on a specific package..Q-tel made it 29dirhams but that too only on Shahry..doesn't sound good...secondly its not 29dirhams for an international call anywhere in the world..it was written 29dirhams according to the country....29dirhams is the minimum for limited countries

by the way i never use my cell phone!

less than 10 calls a week!

i used to buy the 200 hala prepaid card every month!

now i have 3 still in their enveloppes!

than i switched to the 100! now i have 2 virgin cards!

the last time i credit charged was like 2-3 months ago!

i talk daily abroad on sms listo and cell messages (7-10 weekly). that's why i'm angry! 0.29, or 0.5 would have spared me the trouble of internet, or writing messages on tiny cells!

oh did i mention that the best option i like in my cell, is its flash light? bluetooth or green tooth, never opened it (because i donno how maybe!)

well qtel satisfied the IMMORTAL. if action is not taken within hours not days, toward the common MORTALS, vodafone will become an likely option.

to be frank, the q-tel offer angried me. a decent intelligent offer is an integral one that includes all the customers. by saying we will look into hala later, it's like saying: YES, YES, SHUT UP, LET THE IMPORTANT ONE EAT, I PROMISE U'LL GET THE LEFTOVER IF THERE'S ANY.

today the immortal few r already benefiting. but end of september is tomorrow! hours not days!

i for one have long been an advocate of a clear line of distinction between the prepaid and the postpaid segments. Prior to the free call mins and this introductory offer, I as a postpaid user had no unique value proposition being offered to me. Now with this offer, it will incentivize the general populace on the hala cards to migrate to the postpaid schemes.

Yes Maher is right..The Qtel should keep the promotion for all and not only to the post paid customers..

We are very sad that we will not not be benefited by this in any way..In other words what's the use of this promotion to the Qtel Prepaid Customers..They are not getting any promotion at all..While on other hand Vodafone offers its

0.50 dirhams call to overseas for all its vodafone customers and is not doing like Qtel. So I am dissapointed by Qtel for just thinking for its few customers and not for all..
