QRC Launches "Crescent Ladies" Forum

Qatari Red Crescent (QRC) has launched 'Crescent Ladies' forum, a project which brings together a group of Qatari women with the aim of promoting the spirit of volunteerism for this important category mobilizing resources to support, encourage women donate for projects and to shed light on its achievements and activities.

The project also seeks to develop a spirit of volunteerism and to highlight the role of Qatari women in charitable activities for women so that Qatari charity women's movement would become effective and organized in the field of volunteerism.

A Qatar Red Crescent press release said the forum, which consists of a group qualified Qatari female personalities is one of the social development projects that aim to promote the message of the Red Crescent, its projects and activities foremost of which being health awareness and training of community members in the field of first aid and developing the spirit of volunteerism in philanthropic and other humanitarian activities.

Commenting on the project, QRC Secretary-General Saleh Ali Al Muhannadi underlined, the importance of the role played by women in developing the society and training youngsters on good qualities and good deeds , and its prominent role in the charitable and humanitarian work.
He said that studies indicate that more than 60 percent donations are given by women, adding, " from this point we began to implement Crescent Ladies' forum project and we are sure that it would play a big role in the support of QRC humanitarian role.
