QP or Al-Hosn Gas better?

Good Morning all,

I am an Indonesian, 27, currently working for QP with a THP of QR 12000 + accommodation + ticket allowance provided by company QR 13000/ year.

Last month I got selected for a job in Abu Dhabi with Al-Hosn Gas, I am offered an 18000 THP + 110k/ year accommodation & without ticket allowance.

I'm not so sure it's worth moving to the new company considering the living cost comparison between Qatar & Abu Dhabi. And also, unlike QP, Al-Hosn is a very new company under ADNOC group which was established just one year ago.

Can anyone please give me thoughts and opinions about this?

Dear Friend,

sounds good but I will advise you to think twice and do istikhara. All the best. I am suffering a lot because of leaving family and doing rotation though package is more than double what I was getting in previous company in gulf. No amount of money and job satisfaction can replace those lost days .

Bye the way its your personal Choice.

thanks bye.

Dear Qatar 777,

it's actually 200 km away from Abu Dhabi. I previously worked for Total E&P with 2 weeks rotational schedule and I was fine with that. The sulfur granulation in Shah Gas will be handled by contracted company, this matter I think the company has been studying a lot to establish a safe working environment.

I just married 4 months back, my wife is an architect in Indonesia and we are fine with 4/4 rotational schedule. Soon as I have kids, I'll probably think to move back to my country.

I get the sense AD may be a little cheaper because of more competition for goods and services.

Moza & sss : thank you so much for your advice. It was difficult for me to decide at first, I thought the living cost would be much higher in AD. It's clearing my doubts now. Well, I hope I can still be able to save some money there.

Dear Friend,

congratulation for getting selected for Al Hosn Gas.

Well job location of this company is more than 1oo km and they have 4day on and 4 days off schedule .that mean half of the time you will be away from family since accommodation will be in Abudhabi .secondly its high h2s area where concentration will be more than 20% in initial gas feed. and 11ok budget whether you will get accommodation in main abudhabi is Question.

well if your are happy with family in qatar and staying with them then better option to stay in qatar for stable family life. if you are ok with 4 day away with kids and family then choose al hosn gas. 4 day away look simple initially but latter on there will be no stability in life and you have to keep family alone in Abudabi. Security ?

Al hosn gas is very good for career development since its new company in construction stage lots of promotion opportunity will be there in future.

Bottom line choose between stable family life or unstable family life and stable career.

Best Solution : Do istikhara and obey it.

Thanks and regards.

You have too many airlines to choose from Abu Dhabi to get the cheapest price and they also claim as real 5 Stars such as Singapore Airline, Cathay Pacific etc

Also has free bus services to Dubai Airport with Emirate, THAI and other airlines as well

I suggest you should go there

Ive recently moved to qatar after 30 years (all my life)in abu dhabi. I think accomodation in abu dhabi is now becoming more economical while in doha its still over priced.

Doha is in the construction/projects phase now while abu dhabi has stabilised and almost completed all infrastructure...

also like moza said, there is MUCH MUCH more to do in UAE overall than Qatar, there is dubai sharjah fujairah for weekends, i feel qatar has limited options in that category.

best of luck.

It's an Oxy run company so likely to better than QP plus more to do in the UAE and cheaper
