If you were an ex-pat thinking about Qatar, you'd probably get the idea from QL that this is a religious country where people live and breathe religion.
I guess when you come here on the plane, and are greeted by the poor laborers and illegal taxi drivers at the airport, you might just think that the business owners who employ people on peasant wages are decent, ethical people.
And you might think that people working as taxi drivers illegally are doing so as a way of earning a little extra money to supplement their already sufficient wage.
And you might drive along the streets, your knuckles getting whiter and whiter as each car you pass tries to run you off the road and think to yourself that 'Love thy neighbor' is a little distracted.
And you might drive through streets where people live either 8 to a room, or in palaces, and think that people here do care for the poor as their religion requires, it's just that they have a funny way of showing it.
And then when you get to your hotel, and see all the drunk muslims staggering around the lobby, you might think it's just a once off.
And then you share a lift with a handful of prostitutes, and you might raise an eyebrow.
And then you get to your room and discover that satellite TV shows nothing but hardcore pornography or graphic violence.
And then you realise that all the religion on QL has got nothing to do with the real Qatar.
