QBS French transmission finally led to rest?

hamlet
By hamlet

Is it just my imagination or did the most hated French transmission in QBS is finally gone? For more than 8 years this most hated of programs had tortured me and left me with no option but to turn on one of the worst radio channels in the world (Radio Sawa) while I was driving home from work. To my surprise few days ago I have noticed that they were playing popular and new English songs during the same period that was previously occupied by the French transmission. I just hope and pray that it is not temporary and before we now it the French invaders return back and torture us with their hideous program.

The french crusaders are back in Paris, talking to their President, They are just in a break hunting frogs to eat their legs....

Hamlet, anyway, I guess we don't feel the same.

But let's forget about all this. There are more important things to focus on.

For example supporting your people during these harsh days. I hope they will do well.

Laulasqatar,

You actually made me return back to my previous comments to check if I said anything offensive that is worth of all this retilation from your side and I found out nill. If I said anything it was just a reply to mr "Habby Birzday" :ppppp

What can I say...chill dude, it ain't worth it

have a nice weekend

Even worst than before....

One can express himself in a polite and intelligent manner by precisely giving his/her opinion on a particular subject, while still respecting others who have different point of views. When someone is throwing to people such low level comments, how do you expect them to react?

Furthermore, treating the same people - and I quote - pathetic fanatics... shows nothing but a pure lack of respect and education.

The problem I have is not the subject of your initial message "QBS French transmission". I agree with you, it can be classified as a non crucial matter. Yes. But what bothers me, and I am not the only one, is the way you've gratuitously disrepected french speaking people. This is what can be described as pathetic, and definitely worth commenting.

Respect others, they will respect you back.

I am quite desperate to see that today, someone like "HAMLET" (what a great name you've chosen, considering his greatness, and your smallness ), is showing so little respect over one's country, its tradition and language. QBS french program was far from being excellent but it allowed french speaking people living in Qatar to enjoy listening to some music and get the news. So sorry for your lovely little ears if they have been "hurt"... but to be honnest, I don't give a F...

Just to play your game, let's compare modernity in France and compare it with Egypt....desole!!

I don't want to lower myself to your level. So I will stop here.

At least these countries speack french and other language and they don;t say " Habby Birzday" like you

Do you have any problem with mozambique???

At least we don;t have a president for life time :) and you cannot do anything, and we don;t kill christians in church and we don;t fight for 2 football teams, respect other countries especially that you are not better

Dear Hamlet,

Judging by the comments above it doesn't seem that the French program is so popular as you are suggesting: ppp

( i'm sorry to tell that is polupalr and this why we have a station now) sorry haaaa

And even though I am an Egyptian passport holder, I don't listen to either Amr Diab or Tamer Hosny (or any Arabic music as a matter of fact)

( you can listen to the meat singer lady gaga)

On a side note what Indians have to do with what I am saying?!

( i keep you the indian dear i don;t want them to agree with me)

Last time I checked French was diminishing in importance all over the world, even in its own country, so I can hardly call embracing French a sign of progress (unless you live in the 1920s when it was still vogue then :ppppp)

( in the end it's a language they talk in many country like france, canada, belgum,...) if you don;t know it it's a ignorance from your part)

Any way don't worry, just read today that they are starting a dedicated French channel, enjoy it as much as you can....away from us :pppppp

( at least we can listen to some music)

The Oryx radio is on air since couple of weeks now, at least beginning of this new year! Surprising to read the news on gulf times only today (probably making it official these days only).

They started great playing saongs all day (probably the testing period)...thought it's all French programs and news but was surprised that have a program to teach arabic on the radio!!!!! and the news jingle is same as QBS!! beside that..they still interrupt the broadcast for the prayer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

French channel for a hundred thousand who all come from North African countries and Lebanon, while ignorring the much bigger Indian and Phillipino communities:pppppppp another totally pointless move that doesn't make any commercial sense. Why don't those people listen to the superb radio channels in Dubai and witness the amount of commercials broadcasted on them. Give people what they really want and rip the benefits !!!

Oryx FM Radio Station, a new French radio service in Qatar, will start airing a variety of programmes round the clock from 6.30am today, it was announced during the station’s launch yesterday.

A partnership between Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) and Radio France International (RFI), Oryx FM will broadcast on the frequency of 94 FM various programmes ranging from news, culture, economics and sports apart from a wide music selection of French and world music.

“Today’s launch of Orxy FM is a milestone for the 100,000 French-speaking people in Qatar,” said French Ambassador Gilles Bonnaud, adding France and Qatar has been enjoying strong bilateral ties in many sectors such as education, science and justice.
