After attending the Qatar Philharmonic Concert in Qatar National Theatre, one of the musician told me that they have another concert in Aspire building on Thursday 6th of November.

I planned to go there on my own, like I usually do ... but then some friends from QL been in touch with me and said they are interested to go as well. In the end there were 4 of us : myself, Tigasin (plus some of his friends), Torque and Sylwiastep.

So off I go to Aspire. I haven't got any clue where the concert is going to be held. So I tried the aspire blue dome first. On arriving there, the security guard told me that the concert is in the 'Ladies Club' building.

After I parked the car, I went to the entrance, one of the staff showed me the ballroom where the concert going to be held.

I went in to the room, it was full with the musicians practicing their pieces. Found my seat and I kept 3 seats for others.

Recitals start but without program. When I saw the conductor walked-in I felt he is so familiar ... Later on I realized I have seen him last March playing in Education City with Remi Khalife and Katharine Reichstaller.

His name (the conductor) is Lorenz Nasturica. Born in Bucharest, he began to play the instrument at the age of 4. He completed his studies in 1985 with Magna cum Laude and in 1986 he obtained the seat of concert master with the Helsinki National Opera where he conducted several Finish Chamber Orchestras as well. He has been the Concert Master for the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra since 1992. In 1994 he recorded a live CD of Brahm's violin concerto with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Zubin Metha. Lorenz has performed in the most important halls in Israel, Finland, Germany, Japan, Korea, China, USA, England and Spain. In addition he is a permanent guest first violin for the Euskadi Symphonic Orchestra at the Conservatiure Superieure in San Sebastian. Lorenz plays a 1711 Stradivarius.

The concert atmosphere was really very informal. None of the musician and audiences dressing up. There were some kids around.

They played Tschaikowsky (Romeo and Julia), Mozart (Symphony Nr.29) and Mendelshohn (4th Symphony).

Before I made my way home, I said 'hello' and 'thanks' to the musician who letting me know about tonight's concert.

Looking forward for the next Qatar Philharmonic's performance ...
