The plates are fixed in Duhail (same place as the Police Training College). It's signposted. But it can take weeks after the Istimara is renewed before the new plates are actually ready. Especially if you need the long 'thin' ones. They just keep saying 'come back in two weeks'

its in duhail. by the way, the new car plates started since last year, how come you did not change your old plates to the new one AASHIR JEE? did the traffic department did not informed you when you renew your istimara last year about the new plates. penalty for not fixing car plates is 200QR per month from the time you renew your istimara.

if its your first time, no need to pay 200QR. by the way, the deadline for the new plates is at the end of this month (MARCH 31 2013). either your istimara is still valid or not, you are obliged to renew and change your plates to the new one.
