i saw that live on corniche...its amazing
Gear used was Nikon D700 (awesome camera) fitted with 70-200mm f2.8 lens (awesome lens) and 1.7x Nikon teleconverter. Setting used was shutter priority mode set to 1/5000th second. Some post processing in photoshop was also done.
The trick this year was to pick a spot way behind the Emiri stand where I knew (from the last two years)where the jets will be coming from. thus I had a clear view of them long before they reached me, giving me plenty of time to track them. :)

By the way, this wasn't an airshow , but a fly-by...
Hail Russian fighter jets. I am a big fan of the SU-27 Flanker and its derivatives. A beautiful looking jet.
Well technically today's display is not exactly what you would call an air show. It was more like a few fly bys. Nonetheless, it was worth the trip just to hear the Mirage.
Air show wihout Sukhoi 47 and MiG 35 you must be joking...

its not upside down. its the way the photographer took the picture..
they wrote "qatar" upside down on the plane.
