This is Qatar Living, Right?

This is something that has been bugging me for some time now...

Whenever anyone states anything negative about Qatar, Muslims, neighbouring countries, etc it does NOT mean they dislike the country or its people - it merely means they have an opinion on something related to these.

I have plenty to moan about when discussing England, yet it's where I am from and I love the country and I am so excited to be living there again later this year. Just because I moan and groan about the government, the weather, jobs, tax, etc it doesn't mean I don't love England or the people. I also accept things happen in England which I don't agree with and have been on UK forums to voice my opinion.

Why can't you peeps accept the same? It has been said previously that it's human nature to complain about things in life but as soon as anything negative is said about Qatar or anything related to it, you get the same handful of people on the defensive. Saying things like you're happy to take the money, leave if you don't like it, etc. This is QATAR LIVING, so where would you prefer everyone on here to go to voice their opinions about something that's upsetting or bothering them?

Yes, this site is informative for other things and can be useful, but surely we're all allowed an opinion, be it negative or positive.

Responding with negative posts about the West is just immature...I noticed the Pakistan/India threads get deleted pretty damn fast too.

I feel a lot better now that I've got this off my chest - Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

xXx

So second lady on the house gets bugged by the happenings on QL...:). Just expand your horizon..accept this is a site visited by people from all walks of life. Get out of discussion as soon as you think someone is getting onto you if you cannot handle it or would make you lose your nights sleep cos of it....I never felt nor will ever feel that everyone should behave exactly the way I want them to, think as I think or are equally tolerant or intolerant (in context)...but seems mostly I am alone with this no care attitude here. Mumbling FY at times, since we cannot write it here, surely helps...:)

Have a great weekend guys...:)

I'm like you Fatimah, I'm happy to explain why things are the way they are. What I hate is people who don't want to listen to explanations, but rather, push their own hateful agenda.

And agree with you wholeheartedly. People need to stop getting so violently resistant each time their faiths, beliefs, or nations shortcomings are questioned.

I for one love(yes love, not even like but love) it when anyone questions me on these topics, so I could help clear their doubts and misconceptions.

It always pays to keep your egos and overly sensitive nature aside when dealing with people of different cultures, religions and creeds. And be civil and good mannered always.People will listen and accept from you more than if you try to be all sarcastic and rude.

Blessed be the peace makers after all so please no warfare!

I have no issues with anyone having an opinion about the UK, but it's those same people who have already jumped down my throat for saying anything about Qatar, it's hypocritical.

I never get personal on QL and have don't stereotype so it infuriates me when others do.

Opinions can be formed of personal experiences and also through association, here say, information available and word of mouth...

The problem is that people take things too personally and then resort to verbal attacks ..

GO GO SNESSY!

It would be great if every post that was even a little critical of something that goes on here wasn't immediately pounced on as being 'anti muslim'. I'm getting a little hurt being called a racist (my tender Canadian sensibilities can't take it :P)

That isn't my intention jjj75...

MM: You got my cockney accent down to a T there but no, it's no more perfect than the UK...

AP: I've already said in the other thread, you have selective reading.

Khanan: very true and you have a great weekend too honey bunny :-)

Brit: If everyone was mature in their responses, I would agree with you. But how can someone who has never visited the US or UK have such opinions on it? We all have something in common when discussing Qatar or the like.
