Im due to relocate to Qatar in sep 07 with family wife and 2 young children, I'm due to start employment at the academy.
I would be grateful if anyone can give me any extra information on the Academy and life in general in Qatar.
your comments and views would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks...
I will be there as a military advisor and training, and discipline, so may be slightly different role to the teachers you know. But i'm still interested in hearing the truth mate.. cheers

God help you.Not to scare you....well actually. If you survive and I stress if...then your a better person than many.
Gossip about the place, there is much but I'll let you face that on your own. Fact, I know 2 teachers that quit there due to the way things were run. They'd take there chance at unemployment rather than cont. to work there. I won't beat down the place, but remember what I said once you arrive. If you need the goods then and realize I speak the truth then contact me again.
Don't know, Gypsy, I'm not into the single-gender, boarding type schools. It's hard enough as it is getting kids to act normal.
My brother wanted to go and they were willing to accept him, even though he wasn't Muslim, but they said he needs to speak Arabic.

According to their brochure QLA accepts "male Muslim cadets".
The curriculum and everything is taught only in Arabic, and it is only open to boys. Actually I don't believe non GCC children are allowed to go as of yet.
