At least it's not a 'Hot rod' motor show.

You underlined my point ........... not enough local people, so it is an Orchestra made up of Expatriates.

I still agree it is a good thing to have, regardless of the lack of Qatari capable of participating.

going there tonight ... one of the QL'er playing the violin with them. Looking forward to see it ...

There will be a recital duo piano and violin in ASD on the 7th, both of them are QL'ers husband and wife (the husband part of the orchestra who will be playing tonight). I posted the event on calendar. And it is free of charge, i was being told they will put a basket out for the donation for the school. If you like this kindof event do come on the 7th :)

Khallas with the snide remarks China

Go Qatar!

Many Qataris dont receive any form of music lessons at school and have no idea what an orchestra is, appreciation, music...nothing....

like all other aspects of Qatar they dont have enough local people to do the job....

so they kick start it at a level of excellence....

they have the money so why not???

Good for Qatar.

if anyone wants to know what exactly an orchestra comprises of

Let's be fair. There are lots of things in this country intended for the benefit of all it's residents, not just the citizens. (Labour laws however come to mind as a glaring exception to this statement).

I'm wondering why it was called the debut concert and what I paid money for last June at the Ritz where I got a complementary CD of the Qatar Syphony concert...
