Qatar dishes up world records
Qatar claimed two world records, one for the biggest pasta in history and the other for the longest sandwich, at a programme organised by Wataniya Restaurants at the Golf Club yesterday.
Wataniya Restaurants dished up a Wataniya Pasta weighing an enormous 4,300kg to set a new Guinness World Record for the Biggest Pasta in History.
The Wataniya Pasta, prepared using Sbarro pasta, surpassed the previous record by more than 1,000kg.
“Wataniya served up 4,300kg of delicious Sbarro pasta and the Guinness World Record is now held by Qatar,” declared a proud Nasser Beydoun, CEO of Doha-based Wataniya Restaurants.
Golf Club visitors and media representatives also witnessed a second world record for Qatar, as the 1,730-m long ‘Wataniya Sandwich’ smashed the Guinness World Record for the Longest Sandwich in the World.
Chefs and volunteers laboured for 10 days to prepare the 500kg of cold cuts, mushrooms, onions, garlic, spices and bread to make the 1.73-km (1.1-mile) Wataniya Sandwich, a world record snack.
Wataniya Restaurants, serving authentic Italian cuisine, has nine Sbarro outlets in Qatar.
The programme was co-organised by Al-Markhiya Primary Independent Girls School.

guys! it's not easy to do this but the feeling that you broke 2 world records is one amazing feeling.. yes i was part of the world breaking team.. and instead of fighting please just be proud or atleast just be happy..
my life revolves around them... best gift ive ever had...

Corniche, some park, or even in car parks, the exhibition centre or even in the desert.. not in the Golf club..

Damm this record.. They had to close the driving range on Saturday to this.. For God sake why choose the Golf club.. I am sure they are plenty of other places they can go and do this kind of stunt..
