Still no definite cause for the recent Air France crash but it's nice to see that QA are replacing the pitot tubes on their fleet.

If only there was a way to travel a few thousands mile in a few hours without having to go 35000 feet up!

airbus has always been more technologically advanced and wont live off the same plane for 40 years like beoing did with the 747

i think Boeing was more safer than Airbus. why?. coz im not comfortable in flying with a full fly-by-wire driven aircraft.

at least Boeing eventhough they have fly-by-wire they will never take out the cables connected to the flight controls just in case fly-by-wire fails.

just my personal opinion. not to mention B777-300ER is my favorite aircraft. ;o)

I always feel safer on an Airbus than a Boeing and this comes into play when I'm choosing which airline to fly with.

Plus the A340 is light years ahead of the 747 when it comes to comfort and noise reduction. I'm looking forward to the Dreamliner though.

I think historically airbus have fewer incidents than Boeing (CMIIW)

1 event doesn't change anything. I have total faith in airbus industrie.

I so miss the lockheed tristar days. Those were real PLANES.

If a mandatory service bulletin . was printed, I bet Qatar Airways was the first in line to receive it. Qatar is good about learning from world events and latest technologies. Your aisle seat just became harder to book. Not because the bathrooms closer, but people just want to forget they're on a plane until it lands. You see why you should not forget to say a prayer before you eat or fly. Enjoy life enjoy culture it's a privilege.

rj sniper, it is also called "Mandatory Service Bulletins" same as what its called in Boeing. for everyones info, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), has issued a Safety Information Bulletin (SIB) to all National Aviation Authority and Operators in regard to the accident that happened with AF A330 for precautionary measures.

"How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, tolerant of the weak. Someday you will have been all of these."

in aviation. once a certain type of aircraft part is suspected to be faulty the aircraft manufacturers sends out notices to all airlines that has the same type of part fitted in their aircraft and do something about it. in Boeing they call this a Mandatory Bulletin (dont know what they call it in Airbus). they have to abide by this bulletin or else the aircraft will not be permitted to fly. ;)
