Qatar Airways to rent Barwa City
Doha: Qatar's flagship carrier, Qatar Airways, is set to rent the entire Barwa City.
According to Al Sharq newspaper, real estate company, Barwa and Qatar Airways have reached an agreement to rent Barwa City for QR 7.1 billion.
Barwa City has 128 building complexes comprising of 6,000 units that can accommodate 25,000 people.
Delivery of the units will be by September next year. However, specifics were not given as to how long the rent duration will be. Sources close to the deal say it might be for 5 years with the possibility of renewal after the contract expires.
This is the biggest deal in the real estate rental market to date.

Barwa City is meant to be a multi-purpose mixed development - not for the bachelors.. the one for bachelors is called Barwa Housing , utilising two plots in West Sailya and South Doha ..
Nope not for bachelors, there are 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom apartments there.
Some people would have made it for bachelors by renting it out at the rate of 4 bachelors per room.

matildagirl it is on the road going from Muntazah Signal to industrial area on your left hand side after crossing the roundabout that follows 2 Woqod petrol stations opposite to each other. Opposite the 8 Km shopping mall.
Good for them as I expected this property to remain vacant for a long time.
I may be wrong, but I remember there was a lot of publicity about Barwa being the saviour of middle class expats who could not afford housing. Was this township planned for such an objective ?
Wait till Next Year Sept. I think they will send all the Cabin Crew and Pilots out there, because Currently Majority of the Engineers are opting for House Allowance then living in Qatar Airways Accommodation
