Qatar Airways food is CRAP

ForrestGump
By ForrestGump

After flying business some years, I changed job and now it's back in economy class :(

But what's up with these sandwiches or baguettes whatever in Qatar Airways flights? Tastes like rubber and 1 full year 'best before' date? Better smuggle in my own food! 5 star only for the rich and wealthy.

Also, Airport for 'normal people' has to be the worst in ME. 1/2 busride and 1 hour passport queue.

Coming from the crew themselves:

Every single item they feed you is pure garbage.

Even Eggs are made from powder..Not real..All the food is Aged to the point of no return and frozen/heated countless number of times. Whether economy or business, the difference is plating and/or fruits and drinks.

As to Calorie count, "ooops"

Either bring your own food or pay the price of the Business class. Simple enough.

If you think that QA is bad, then just wait until you sit on a U.S. carrier flight.

So, actually you are spending about QR 6.000 more just to eat on the plane? Never mind. It's still the same plane. And when it crashes, you will crash, too.

Once i flew Jet Blue from New York to Seattle, 7 hours flight, the food served was 2 sandwiches and coffee!!!

QA, business class food is Excellent, Be it a Short Haul 2 hour flight or Non Stop service of 17 hours...

Don't know abt Economy, never traveled Economy on QA as yet....

Regarding the 1/2 hour bus ride from the terminal to the Aircraft, means the Aircraft was parked somewhere at East Apron.

Immigration lines, there is something know as "E Gate pass" spend 100 QAR...

The crappiest food is served on NASA's Space Shuttle! However, for some reason it's quite expensive. I guess because they counted the nutrients in each plastic bag to make sure the astronauts receive a balanced diet.

Qatar airways food is a whole lot better than most US bases airlines food.

I remember one summer i flew US airways from London Gatwick to Philadelphia. It was a 8 hour flight and they served only one meal (which was canned ravili that they put in a plastic container) and a slice of lunch meat on a small bun as a snack as we got closer to landing(keep in mind this was a day flight so most of the passengers were awake). Snacks were $5. headphones were $5 each. Not only that the service was awful. The flight attendants had huge attitude problems. They were rude to everyone.

And don't get me started on southwest airlines. It's more like taking a bus instead of flying

I have also flown british ariways which was too great either.

Maybe it's just me but i love flying qatar airways.

If you fly Qatar to Manilla business class you pay around 9,000 Qr you fly roach class you pay 3,000 Qr,, hello,,, you get what you pay for you fly cheap you get cheap.. What don’t you understand,,, oh your company paid before then you pay now . i do as i won’t travel roach class... i like my fine wines and food, being treated normal, eat what i want, when i want, turn down the bed in flight,,, but i pay for that service, if you want to fly roach class do it,, up to you and the standards you expect to have on that class, i will be thinking again of all the poor people in roach class when I’m in business class flying to Manilla next march for my vacation,, for me the vacation starts at the airport.. but then again i pay for that luxury,

You get what you pay for.

You want luxury then go business or first class. Can't afford? Then don't complain. Not airline's fault you are poor.

I have traveled on many airlines around the world. I can assure you food on Emirates and Qatar are among the best of the airline food. The food other airlines serve cannot be consumed.

ForrestGump, sorry I'm laughing at your pain. I think this horrible attitude is a normal reaction after being served shrimps and drinks in your "business" palace, you feel as if you've been punished having moved to a small shared-room with 10 mates with very little or no leg room. For "normal people" like me, I have no issues with QA.

When you fly on any American/European carrier, you know beforehand that you will not get any food unless you pay for it, right ?

When you fly QA, you expect a 5 star service as that is what the smiling lady on the QA website tells you, right ? Haha, I know that rubber sandwich very well. Call the QA call center and wait until your call is recorded for training purposes. Press 2 for English,... After the flight enjoy the free scenic Doha ride to the QA arrival hall to join the crowd and eventually your friendly dynamic Qatari policemen...

I agree the food is crap....rubber eggs, we pay so much money for the economy flight. The service has gone down as well the hostess's arent that friendly when attending to us I fly often but really our money pay their salaries. if you dont ask for snacks they wont come around and offer...just not a five star airline i would say. The staff treats us like they doing us a favour.
